A dock of questionable usefulness.

Altec Lansing's iMV712 iPod dock has a big screen and can sound quite loud, but it's of questionable use.

8.5-inch screen. Sleek design. Easy to use. S-Video output for TVs. Works with camcorders.

So-so speaker quality. Cheap remote. No audio outputs.

Maybe there's a need for an iPod dock with a screen, but the speakers on the iMV712 from Altec Lansing didn't blow me away, and the price seems way too high.

Great sound. Very easy to use. Elegant, simple design. Works with other devices, besides the iPod.

LCD display quality was lacking. Remote is vital for some functions, but could be lost easily. Cannot mirror iPod menus.
