ASUS R300

By Craig Ellison (pcmag.com)

This attractive entry-level GPS device packs the features, but it won't cost you a fortune.

Multi-segment routing. Multiple vehicle and road profiles. Excellent language support. Route-saving feature.

Lacks text-to-speech conversion. Bluetooth hands-free feature sounds muffled, and it wouldn't recognize contacts from my phone. FM transmitter doesn't work well.

This stylish entry-level GPS device packs the features, but it won't cost you a fortune.

Cheap Motorcycle GPS

By Mondo (newegg.com)

Haven't tried any software or map updates yet. I should do that.

I love it for motorcycle. I put it inside a tank bag, under the clear plastic map pocket. I use the FM transmitter for directions. Should be great for city walking also. (Got sort of lost in Berlin, I never get lost, ouch.)

Uses special battery. Still hard to see in bright light. (Not looking anyway when riding motorcycle; need to stop.) FM transmitter can be overwhelmed by FM noise on the busy city highway, especially around airports. Works fine away from town.

Avoid

By HB861 (newegg.com)

tons of features only available on higher end units

horrendous manual! Poor interface... stick with Garmin and/or TomTom - they use english speaking engineers to design their products and manuals.

Great GPS for the money

By Pete (newegg.com)

My first GPS. For what I paid for, this is a really great GPS. The visuals and modes of display are great. I don't have any experience with other GPS, so take that in consideration.

Great visual display, lots of features. Very nice packaging. Quick to find satellite. Very compact design. Comes with great little protective case that fits in your pocket.

Doesn't come with something to let you write to the sd card. A little slow booting up. Not a lot of points of interest.
