The Dell Vostro 1310 is an affordable, lightweight laptop that caters to small-business users.

Good start-up machine. Lightweight. New industrial design. Inexpensive. Multiple processor options. Discrete graphics option. Multiple battery options. No "trialware" policy.

Single speaker; sounds tinny at higher volumes. Lacks options for a cellular modem.

Low prices, multiple configuration options, and a "no-trialware" option should make the Dell Vostro 1310 laptop a start-up favorite.

For the price, one can pack in a fast processor, lots of memory, an enormous hard drive, security features, and a nice screen, into a reasonably small package. Good value!

Corners of the case are so sharp that they hurt one's forearms when typing. The layout of the Home, End, PgUp, and PgDn keys is very awkward. Problems with nVidia card Dell can't fix, and other keyboard problems.
