Manufacturer's Description

The compact, hand-fitting Xacti HD1000 measures just 90 x 112.6 x 54.5 mm and weighs 268 g (body only). In line with the entire Xacti stable of digital movie cameras, it's shaped for comfortable one-handed shooting on the fly. So don't head out without it. Stunning, full high-definition movies on the Xacti HD1000 are recorded in the high-compression MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 format. Your movie files are smaller and easier to work with, but offer image quality that will take your breath away when played back on widescreen HDTVs. The newly designed CMOS sensor captures significantly more light than previous image sensors, enabling much improved performance in low light. So flip open the monitor and unleash the movie-maker within. The Xacti HD1000 captures the moment forever with high-sensitivity 4-megapixel still images at up to ISO 3200. But just because you want to take a still image doesn't mean you have to stop recording a movie - you can do both at the same time with a simple button press. Meanwhile, features such as the Face Chaser and Full Auto modes make the HD1000 as satisfying for beginners to use as it is for more experienced photographers. The supplied docking cradle opens up a host of connection possibilities. By connecting the unit via USB to an external hard disk, you can back up your movies and stills without having to access a PC. Along with USB, the cradle offers HDMI and component video connections, for high-quality playback of movies on a connected HDTV. You can also use the cradle when recording to a DVD or HD recorder, or when connecting the unit to a PC or printer.
