Samsung Eternity (AT&T) review

By Kent German

The Samsung Eternity has an attractive design with a intuitive touch-screen interface. It offers a solid assortment of multimedia features and good call quality. It also has impressive battery life.

The Samsung Eternity's virtual keyboard isn't available when entering message recipients. It lacks a camera flash, Wi-Fi and voice dialing and the 3G connectivity could be stronger.

The Samsung Eternity succeeds as a multimedia device, but without Wi-Fi and full e-mail support, it stops well short of being a business-friendly device.

Samsung Eternity After Samsung made the carrier rounds with the Instinct, the Behold, and the Delve, it's only natural that some variant of a touch-screen phone would come knocking on America's largest carrier, AT&T. Like the other Samsung phones...

Samsung Eternity SGH-A867 (AT&T)

By Sascha Segan

The Samsung Eternity SGH-A867 touch-screen phone has plenty of fun featuresincluding Mobile TV. Its biggest problem, though, is that it's not only the same price as the iPhone 3G, but it's also on AT&T. This fact will lead many AT&T subscribers to a ...

Powerful processor. Responsive touch screen. Solid voice phone. Strong stereo Bluetooth support

Relatively expensive. Poor mobile TV reception. GPS app is difficult to navigate. Subpar camera. PC sync software doesn't work well

The Samsung Eternity is a fun touch-screen phone with mobile TV on board, but AT&T subscribers would probably be happier with the more-powerful, more-attractive, and more-flexible iPhone.

Samsung Eternity - Review of the Samsung Eternity

By Todd Haselton

Award: Editor's Choice!

The Eternity packs all the multimedia functionality you could ask for, but it doesn't execute flawlessly.

3.5mm headphone jack, Sleek design, Accurate touchscreen, Good TV playback, 3.5mm headphone jack

Forced to download third-party codec to listen to videos, Camera colors were washed out, Headphones not included

The main menu has the standard fare, including an Address Book, the AT&T GPS Navigator software, and Media Mall. You'll also find a Yellow Pages application and a shortcut to AT&T Mobile TV.

Samsung Eternity review (AT&T)

By Philip Berne

We get our hands on the latest Samsung touchscreen phone in our Samsung Eternity review. Did Mobile TV make this the best TouchWIZ of the bunch?

Responsive touchscreen. Good music player. Menus and interface are all polished, ready for touch.

TouchWIZ interface is nearly useless thanks to lack of screen real estate, cramped widgets. Lacks some necessary calling and messaging features. Mobile TV a letdown on this device.

The Samsung Eternity: Design - Good Samsung has a whole family of phones in this same design vein, including the Samsung Behold on T-Mobile and the Samsung Omnia. The Samsung Eternity, like the Behold, doesn't offer all the advanced features of...

Samsung Eternity - AT&T Phone Reviews by Mobile Tech Review

By Lisa Gade

AT&T and LG released the Vu, a touch screen, slate design phone with broadcast TV just this Spring. The Vu was an attractive, light phone that offered multimedia services the iPhone didn't: TV, CV streaming media and the ability to send and receive ...

Lovely design, very good display and fast. Touch screen with haptic feedback works well and we like Samsung's TouchWiz UI. Excellent call quality. TV tuner does an great job of bringing in sharp, clear broadcasts. Phone has GPS, plays a variety of ...

Must remove the battery to access the microSD card slot. No speed dial (duh!)

. The phone is attractive, compact and light yet it packs a roomy 3.2" touch screen, GPS, TV tuner and a large battery inside. If you're looking for a reasonably priced touch screen phone with lots of multimedia possibilities, a very good camera and a ...
