It's called the Viewty Smart, but it's definitely not a smartphone. Aside from the decent camera, there's very little to recommend this high-priced mobile.
Decent 8-megapixel camera, Good basic functionality, Strong battery life
S-Class UI is not easy to use, Limited automated set-up, Poor online experience
LG calls its latest camera phone the Viewty Smart, suggesting an upgrade from the original Viewty with the inclusion of extra smarts, but just because the company says it doesn't make it so. The Viewty Smart looks like a cross between the original...
Boasting an 8Mp camera with an LED flash and Schneider-Kreuznach lens, LG's Viewty Smart is the second mobile phone to feature LG's S-Class 3D user interface, first seen on the LG Arena. Don't be fooled by the name though, as this isn't a smartphone.
LG's Viewty Smart is a good camera phone and the S-Class UI is rich and engaging but there are plenty of faults. The interface is sluggish, there is no 3.5mm headphone jack and the included mobile browser is poor.
Despite its name, the LG Viewty Smart is not a smartphone. Forget any hope of adding apps galore or expanding its gaming abilities. What it does do is dish up quality cameraphone photos, thanks to seriously clever software inside.Around the back, ...
The LG Viewty Smart's camera software is far and away the most impressive on the market. Intelligent Shot mode lets the phone analyse the scene in front of it, balancing focus, aperture, shutter speed and white balance to give good results in almost ...
However, once you've torn yourself away from the LG Viewty Smart's camera function, the phone becomes less impressive. Sure, there's the latest S-Class interface, which makes customising home screens and whizzing between functions a breeze, but the ...
The Viewty Smart feels slightly impotent. Its power is obvious, and the design is an absolute beauty. If it could be extended with new apps and software, we'd proclaim it a must-own. Without them, it's one strictly recommended for photo-obsessives...
View, what a scorcher! The LG Viewty is undeniably a looker, measuring a slender 104×54x15mm, and boasting a three-inch touchscreen. But if there's anything that Naomi Campbell taught us, it's that not everything that looks beautiful is necessarily ...
Super-stylish. Takes great movies and photos
Disappointing flash lets it down somewhat
Don't want an iPhone or Nokia N-Series? The LG Viewty is a bit high-maintenance, but takes great snaps and movies and looks the business.
The Viewty's 5MP camera is capable of shooting great videos and producing decent looking photographs.
This is one of LG's best phones yet. If you're looking for a good camera-phone, the LG Viewty is definitely worth checking out. From the vibrating touchscreen interface to the YouTube video capabilities and photo-editing app, we liked what it has to ...
Touchscreen interface; 5-megapixel camera; HSDPA (3.5G); ability to upload videos straight to YouTube
Lack of cover for the camera; lack of Wi-Fi; camera mode switch is a little tough to move
Many camera-phones take good pictures but don't look that great themselves--fortunately the LG KU990 Viewty is not an ugly camera-phone. In fact, we can go so far as to say it's one of the best-looking camera-phones we've seen so far. In line with LG ...
The Viewty from LG is one of the most sought after phones in the LG line. It 900/1800/1900 GSM compatible and is a 3G phone, operating at HSDPA 2100, at the same time. It weighs 112g and its dimensions are 103.5 x 54.4 x 14.8 mm. It is has a wide ...
Getting decent pictures from a cameraphone can be as tricky as getting coherent English sentences from Mickey Rourke. The good news is the Viewty serves up 5MP photos that are crisp and clear as a BBC news reader, and surprisingly sharp movies even ...
Wrestling with the little jog wheel around the lens can put greasy smears on your pictures – what happened to the lens cover, LG? And now you mention it, where exactly are we meant to put the dangling stylus? Don't be fooled by LG's claim that this is ...
If you don't need the power and flexibility of an iPhone or a N-series Nokia, the Viewty is a smackdown photo winner. Or, mmenmming grunnumm frunng, as Mickey would say.
Will LG's wider-than-average, touchscreen handset be enough to tempt you away from ha
Touchscreen; 5MP camera; Stylish looks
Lack of camera shutter; Grease and mark-prone screen
Not content with being a bit of a stills wizard, you can shoot video at 120 frames per second, slow it down and upload it straight to YouTube et al, taking advantage of the phones 3.6Mbps HSDPA connectivity. DivX support also ensures a great video ...

Looking for a way to flash a little more of that personality? It has now been announced by Orange of the UK that they will be carrying a version of the LG Viewty in purple. That's right, purple has orange Orange has purple. The only way things could ...
Good looking, well designed with a good camera, and driven by a good touchscreen
After launching a series of fashionable and feature-packed phones, LG's latest offering is the KU990 Viewty. The touchscreen device has a power-packed camera and the strong feature set means that is not just another LG phone that will go unnoticed ...
