The Nokia N96 features 16GB of storage and advanced multimedia features, including a 5-megapixel camera. The smartphone also has integrated Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and 3G support
The N96 froze on a couple of occasions and can sometimes be sluggish. Nokia's Ovi services aren't fully activated in North America, so you can't take advantage of those extra capabilities. It's also expensive
Though the Nokia N96 is a powerful all-in-one smartphone with an impressive amount of user storage, it's not a significant upgrade to the N95 and is outdone by new devices coming to market, including the Nokia N97.
Photo gallery: Nokia N96 The Nokia N96 caused quite a commotion when it first debuted at GSMA 2008 in February, but as with most of Nokia's high-end phones, it took a little while for the smartphone to make its way to the United States. Don't get...
We check out the big daddy of Nokia's Nseries devices, the 16GB N96, now available with North American 3G support. Does it top our favorite smaller Ns? Find out in our Nokia N96 review.
Large screen. Good sound quality, for music as well as phone calls
Low battery life. Underpowered compared to less expensive Nseries alternatives
The interface on the Nokia N96 is pure Symbian S60, and new units will ship with the feature pack 2, which offers a few visual enhancements, but nothing significant. Symbian S60 is starting to wear on us as an OS, much like Windows XP wears on us. The ...
The N96 is the current top-of-the line N-series offering from Nokia and it boasts smartphone capabilities combined with multimedia super powers. With 3G connectivity, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.0 + EDR, aGPS, and 16GB of memory on board, it is certainly well ...
The N96 is Nokia's current top-of-the-line model in their N-series line-up. Soon to be outdone by the upcoming N97, the N96 still presents a very capable multimedia device with a 2.8-inch QVGA screen, 16GB of internal memory, a 5-megapixel camera with ...
The N96 is a 2-way slider, and when closed, the screen and its control buttons are what greet you. Slide the screen up and the number pad will be revealed below. Slide the screen down, and you'll see 4 multimedia control buttons at the top to control ...
The Nokia N96 ($775, unlocked) caused a lot of international buzz when it debuted earlier this year. Finally, ten months later, a U.S. version has shipped, but it wasn't worth the long wait: Though this model has the same excellent multimedia and ...
5-megapixel camera Excellent multimedia features
Clunky, cheap build No touch screen or QWERTY keyboard
Nokia addresses that issue with the N96's already-announced successor, the N97, which has both features. And though a U.S. version of the N97 isn't currently available, I imagine we will see one at some point. The N96 offers a strong feature set, but ...
Finally, ten months later, a U.S. version has shipped, but it wasn't worth the long wait: Though this model has the same excellent multimedia and camera features as its predecessor, the Nokia N95, the N96 just doesn't stack up to the competition...
Though the Nokia N96 cell phone offers an excellent feature set, you're better off waiting for the N97, when it becomes available in the U.S.

While not a massive update from the original N95, the new Nokia N96 does give Nokia's old uber-phone a visual upgrade as well as adds the ability to store even more photos and songs. Learn more in our review.
At first I wasn't so keen on the Nokia N96, as the flat keypad leaves a lot to be desired, and the interface could be very slow at times.
Nokia's N96 has hit the shelves, set to take over from its highly successful predecessor, the N95. Physical AspectsLike its older brother, the Nokia N96 is certainly no featherweight. The N96 takes on Nokia's new look that seems to have spread...
The Nokia N96 comes in a sleek package. A picture of the phone is displayed on the top side, and the internal memory of 16GB is mentioned. Upon opening the box, you will find the N96 placed in a picture. When opening the picture, you will find a ...
A mighty feature set. Arguably the strongest of 2008.
A mighty feature set. Arguably the strongest of 2008.
It can be slow and the finish is a little disappointing.
The N96 is a tremendously well-endowed phone, excelling at video, but it does have its flaws
Every time Nokia Nseries numbering goes up a notch geeks are holding their breath. Well, geeks - including us - are no ordinary human beings, but in the case of Nokia N96 they'd been holding their breath since February...
2.8" 16M-color TFT LCD display of QVGA resolution ; 5 megapixel autofocus camera with dual-LED flash and AF assist light ; Built-in DVB-H TV tuner ; Symbian OS 9.3 with S60 3.2 UI ; Dual ARM 9 264 MHz CPU and 128 MB of RAM ; 3G with HSDPA support ; ...
Inadequate battery life ; No camera lens protection ; The @$$#% N81-inspired design ; No office document editing out of the box ; Doesn't charge via the USB port ; Dreadful camera key ; Cheap looking keypad ; Unreasonably hefty price tag
Being a successor of the Nokia N95 8GB, Nokia N96 has some king-size spec sheet to top and it can't be accused of not trying. There's FP2, double the built-in storage and DVB-H. The bloodline is strong but the crown is heavy and ancestral sins will be ...
Sony Ericsson K770The Nokia offer in this segment is without doubt the now elderly and 3G-less Nokia 6300 (about 110 euro) and Nokia 3120 classic (about 130 euro). The Nokia 3120 classic however matches the L700 with quad-band GSM functionality...
