Samsung UltraTOUCH S8300 Review

By PhoneArena Team

Being an Ultra series phone, Samsung UltraTOUCH S8300 brings along many of the advantages of other, more narrowly specialized devices in a nice and good-looking body, making it ......

Fashionable appearance, Downloadable widgets, Fast 8-megapixel camera

Lagging interface, Unhandy sliding mechanism, Very poor sound quality of calls

In our view, being a phone is pretty easy these days, especially if you pack a lot of features. This way, stuff like bad voice quality or crackling loudspeaker often gets more easily accepted. However, there is no question of give-and-take in our ...

Review: Video review of Samsung's S8300 Ultra TOUCH

By Michael Oryl

A short while back we received a shiny new Samsung S8300 in the mail. The S8300, known as the Ultra Touch and Tocco Ultra Edition, is an 8mp cameraphone with an AMOLED touchscreen display. See how it performs in our review, which includes 3 HD videos.

I have to admit that I am quite enamored with the Samsung S8300 Ultra Touch / Tocco Ultra Edition.

The Samsung S8300 UltraTOUCH was introduced this past February at the 2009 Mobile World Congress event in Barcelona. Physical AspectsIn terms of physical design, there are few cell phones on the market today that are as well designed and overall...

Samsung S8300 UltraTouch - hybrid

By Bog

Improved F480, mixed with U900, a keyboard, with an elegant desgin, focusing on touch.

An iPhone, a Meizu, or a Prada can be tricky or cool, but I would never start writing an email on any of them. Samsung UltraTouch tries to solve this problem by having a sliding keyboard and still providing full touchscreen functionality. There has ...

Samsung S8300 and updated TouchWiz UI previewed

Samsung S8300 UltraTouch: Ultra-thin meets AMOLED touchscreen

By Sindre Lia

If you ever wondered what Samsung was up to when they had come to the end of the ultra-thin concept, you'll get the answer in the Samsung S8300 UltraTouch.

Wide-VGA screen boasting an 800 x 480 pixels resolution, it would easily have been a screen to beat this spring. Still, it's nice to see Samsung opting for a large screen with AMOLED technology in a mass market phone

Samsung S8300 Tocco Ultra Edition mobile phone

By Chris Hall

Touchscreen? Slider? We find out

Great build quality and looks, HSDPA, good media file support, GPS, camera surprisingly good, widgets

Sometimes slow to respond, browser experience seems a little bloated, menus not the most intuitive, lacks Wi-Fi

For those who love Samsung and want the reassurance of a keypad and the thrill of a full touch device, then this is a hot little number.

Samsung UltraTouch (S8300)

By Joseph Hanlon

Its camera is great and the screen looks amazing, but the UltraTouch is not a knockout. It's a weird mix of business looks, average apps and dodgy performance, and we just can't tell who exactly Samsung is trying to sell it to.

Excellent 8-megapixel camera, Slim slider form factor, AMOLED display looks amazing

Laggy interface, Stiff, business look, No 3.5mm headphone socket on the phone, Keypad is cramped and hard to use, Not a smartphone

In line with the agreements made by many of the major phone labels at this year's MWC showcase in Barcelona, the UltraTouch charges using a micro-USB input rather than the standard Samsung proprietary port. While there's no 3.5mm headphone socket...
