Super slim Jim

Super slim design ; excellent screen ; nice user interface ; feature-rich music player

Average camera ; no FM radio ; poor video quality

Overall, the W880i is a noteworthy addition to the Walkman series of phones. It has a good interface, excellent screen and useful features, and should fit the bill of every mobile user.

Sony Ericsson W880i

It feels like Sony Ericsson has been churning out Walkmans at a terrific rate recently, in all shapes, sizes and formats - sliders, candybars, cheap 'n' cheerful music players and fancy touchscreen smartphones. And if something's not broke, why fix it?

Great looks and fashionably thin, 3G connectivity, Very good music player with 1GB memory card

Keys small, No FM radio, No flash

There's no doubt it's a fashion item but we're pleased to report this hasn't come at the expense of performance or features

So thin in fact, that it's thinner than a CD case, something Sony Ericsson has made much of in its marketing - it can hold up to 900 music tracks on a device that's thinner than a standard CD case. But of course it's not just a pretty face, and...

Sony Ericsson W880i

By Frazier Barretto

Sony Ericsson cuts on the fat for its newest Walkman phone. This slim gem will catch your attention, but will it make you shell out the moolah?

Slim, Light Weight, Walkman 2.0, Excellent Sound Quality, 2 MP camera, 1 GB M2 Memory, Elegant looks

Very Expensive, QCIF video recording, No FM, Uncomfortable alphanumeric keys

The Sony Ericsson W880i has an MRP of Rs. 24,599 with a one year warranty but off the street it is available for around Rs. 23,500. The phone is plain and simple expensive without a doubt. This price should see a drop later upto 19K perhaps, say in ...

Sony Ericsson W880i

Can a mobile be too thin? Sandra checks out the waif-like W880i.

I wanted to like the W880i because it looks so stunning. But in the end I think it's too thin for its own good.

Sony Ericsson's W880i made me ask this question because while it is just 9.4mm thick and looks absolutely stunning, its size has made for a significant set of compromises in terms of its buttons. Sony Ericsson has obviously put some thought into...

Commercialized: Sony Ericsson W880i is Romantic

By Michael Kwan

We get to see a budget-minded couple get together in a secluded area with some greasy burgers, fries, and soda... but where does the Walkman phone come into play?..

Ushering in the Sony Ericsson W880i slim candybar phone is the first commercial by the folks at Sony. We get to see a budget-minded couple get together in a secluded area with some greasy burgers, fries, and soda... but where does the Walkman phone ...

Ushering in the Sony Ericsson W880i slim candybar phone is the first commercial by the folks at Sony. I do find it a little ironic, though, that this couple has a fairly expensive W880i yet their idea of a romantic evening is munching on burgers....

Sony Ericsson W880i

A very thin and stylish 3G music phone. Lots of features - music player, video player and camera - but I found the keys were too close together and fiddly to use.

Thin, Slim, Lightweight, Stylish, Music player, 3G Internet access

No FM Radio, Small screen, No camera flash or auto focus, Keypad is tricky to use

Sony EricssonW880i

The Walkman phone has been reinvented as a pancake-thin trendsetter. But can the W880i's svelte body still produce a musical roar?

The sexiest Walkman phone yet. 3G. User-friendly. 1GB memory card included.

Feeble internal storage. Camera lacks flash and autofocus. Very small buttons.

Sony Ericsson W880i

By Albert Malik

If you like candybars and like them slim, you're going to love the W880i. It has so many abilities underneath its thin metal skin and yet it maintains a thickness of less than 10 millimetres. It's also feather-light at only 71 grams.

Sony Ericsson's interface hasn't changed compared to other Walkman phones (or other Sony Ericsson phones for that matter), so if you've used a recent one before you'll have no problem using the W880i. At 9.4 millimetres thick and 71 grams heavy...

Review: Sony Ericsson W880i

By Reuben Lee

The W880i is slim, sexy and surprisingly packed with features. If you can look past its tiny keys and tinsy sound, this is one music-phone that's worth a closer look.

Slim, attractive design ; solid build quality ; bundled with a 1GB memory card ; 3G ; loud speakers ; sharp image captures

Camera lacks autofocus and flash ; buttons are too small ; no FM radio ; tinny sound quality

Sony Ericsson has finally jumped onto the thin-phone bandwagon when it launched its first sub-10mm Walkman phone, the W880i, a week before the 3GSM World Congress in February. (The company offered sneak peeks of the handset earlier in January...

Sony Ericsson W880i Review

By admin

The W880i has to be one of the thinest feature phones we have ever come across and it weighs only 71g.

The W880i is a cool phone with a great high-quality screen, though its battery life could be better and the lack of a flash hinders camera operation. From a connectivity point of view the Sony has it all.
