This great new expansion offers a significant amount of new content for veteran Medieval II players.
In the end, Kingdoms packs about four times as much gameplay as a traditional Total War expansion, making it an excellent value. All of these campaigns are interesting and well done, and if you've got a yen for a particular period in history that they ...
Enter Medieval II: Total War Kingdoms, an expansion pack that offers up whole new areas of the world for would-be emperors to conquer. Conquering Europe is never an easy task, in real life and in Medieval II: Total War. There's a lot of content in...
"Epic" doesn't quite begin to describe the scope and scale of the latest Total War game--there's a lot of strategic depth, with plenty of amazing combat to enjoy.
Still, Medieval 2 is an excellent strategy game--there's just so much here to occupy you for hours. At the same time, you'll need to be committed to get through the campaign, as it can take up a lot of time. If you're a strategy fan looking for an ...
Medieval 2: Total War Review of Medieval II: Total War (PC)The game restricts you to only about five major players at first (England, France, the Holy Roman Empire, and so on), but after you win a campaign game you can unlock 12 other factions......
Martin Korda takes out his frustrations, medieval-style
Four massive, varied campaigns A wealth of new features, units and factions Urivalled replayability Excellent tweaks to siege battles
A few new features poorly executed
True royalty
It will be good to see what CA come up with next in this series, but for the meantime, if you want epic scale battles and dynasty building strategy, Total War still remains the undisputed king.
If you've got a PC that can handle it, MTW2 will let you fight some massive battles, with thousands on each side, in the rain or snow or even at night.
MTW2 doesn't seem to have made much effort to make changes, like cleaning up the interface or trying out better ways to tackle game elements that didn't quite work before.
Creative Assembly delivers a quality release for strategy and wargame fans.
Since Shogun, CA have been making History Channel viewers happier and happier with each release, first with the original Medieval Total War (let's call it MTW1) and then Rome Total War (RTW). Creative Assembly pretty much rewrote the book on...
The Creative Assembly strikes gold once again as it returns us to medieval warfare
Most detailed and immersive campaign map ever Cracking RTS visuals Massively strategic yet incredibly accessible You can conquer the Americas
Some niggling glitches Siege battles still a little hollow
Detailed, if occasionally cracked, masterpiece
Epic, engrossing gameplay that makes you feel as though you're managing a medieval kingdom ; impressive strategic depth that lets you play popemaker and dabble with espionage ; beautiful graphics and amazing battles packed with cinematic moments ; ...
Beefy PC system requirements required to appreciate huge battles in all their glory ; multiplayer limited to battles

- Medieval II is the latest game in the Total War series, using the acclaimed Rome engine with Medieval content. But is this war sim worth the time? We campaigned to find out.
Scale, lots of action, emphasis on strategy
Power demands as game rolls on, battlefield camera control poorly conceived
One for the strategists, you need time and patience for this battle sim
Another complaint is the battlefield camera which seems to be ill-conceived, the rotation seems a bit limited and the zoom is more like a swoop down function - it is a minor gripe - something you learn to live with, but could have been better. But...
If Medieval 2 wasn't enough for you, this is what you've been wating for.
Kingdoms does exactly what a good expansion pack should do, not just adding new content but reinvigorating the whole game experience. Four campaigns, each one worthy of a separate release, make it a bumper value pack for Total War fans.
A major part of the appeal of Medieval 2 - and indeed of the whole Total War series - is its epic quality. If Medieval 2 was all about the big, sweeping picture - the headlines of the middle ages News at Ten - then this is the in-depth analysis;...
Dare we say the near-perfect strategy game? A royal treat for history addicts.
The ultimate goal is total domination of Europe and the Middle East, but with more than 10 kingdoms it's a challenge. While the most obvious method is military conquest, this isn't the only option. Diplomacy plays a key part, and the judicious use of ...
