Review: Ipevo Kaleido R7 digital frame

By Kathleen Cullen

The Kaleido R7 is an attractive frame for dwellings with décor that's more modern than traditional.

Includes Wi-Fi; solid construction; stylish; very good image quality

Must use computer connection to delete photos on device; no image shuffling in slideshows; image adjustment controls limited to brightness; no audio or video support

The Kaleido R7 will look right at home on a desk or in modern décor. The 7-inch widescreen can rotate on its solid, heavyweight stand and automatically orients pictures accordingly

Kaleido R7 7"

By Kathleen Cullen

The Ipevo Kaleido R7 ($200 as of 5/7/2009) is beautifully designed--even if it doesn't particularly resemble a picture frame. Black and white with attractive touchpad controls, it is somewhat reminiscent of Apple's "iLamps" of a few years ago. The ...

Includes Wi-Fi Very solid, pretty device

Must use PC connection to delete photos on device No image shuffling in slideshows

I liked the Kaleido's intuitive menu operation and power on/off interval settings, and I also found the Wi-Fi connection simple to set up. However, it's hard not to wish that this device had audio and video support, given its steep price--but ...

The Ipevo Kaleido will look right at home on a desk or in modern décor. In my tests, the Kaleido rendered pictures slightly cooler than our originals. The Kaleido accepts SD/SDHC, MMC, and MS memory cards and USB flash drives, and offers 512MB of...

IPEVO Kaleido R7 Wireless Digital Frame

By Zach Honig

Every once in a while, we see a device with one feature that makes it stand out from the pack. The IPEVO Kaleido R7 Wireless Digital Frame is one such device. The Kaleido R7's sharp display, which can rotate 90 degrees, shows full-screen images in ...

Easy configuration. Rotatable display. Sharp, bright images. Good viewing angle in landscape mode

Expensive. No storage for the remote. Wall wart instead of inline power adapter. Portrait mode viewing-angle problems

A sleek glossy housing makes the IPEVO Kaleido R7 an attractive digital photo frame, but its unique rotatable display isn't enough to justify the high price.

The IPEVO Kaleido R7 Wireless Digital Frame is one such device. The widest parts of the frame's black bezel, its sides, measure 0.9 inch—significantly more than the sides of the Sony VAIO Wi-Fi Photo Frame (VGF-CP1) (0.5 inches) but less than...

Review: Ipevo Kaleido R7 digital frame

By Peter Ha

I'd rather listen to nails on a chalkboard all day than review a digital picture frame. What's the big deal with these things? It's probably something I'd buy for my parents. That's how I used to feel about digital picture frames until I got my mitts ...

That’s how I used to feel about digital picture frames until I got my mitts on the 7-inch Kaleido R7 from Ipevo. If Ipevo can fix the RSS output with a firmware update then the R7 is a must have digital picture frame. The Wi-Fi-enabled frame not...
