Megapixels: 6.1, Media Format: CompactFlash, Maximum Resolution: 3008 x 2000 pixels, Type: D-SLR
Slightly larger LCD than the D70. Excellent flash coverage. Good menu structure.
Expensive.
The D70s is basically the popular D70 with a slightly larger LCD screen. It's an excellent 6.1MP D-SLR, but our Editors' Choice remains the Canon Rebel XT, an excellent (and less expensive) 8MP D-SLR.
It's no surprise, then, that Nikon hasn't tweaked the formula much with its follow-up, the Nikon D70s, which is essentially the same camera with a slightly larger LCD. All Shots In the next couple of months, Nikon will release another...
The new Nikon D70S is the latest in a long line of impressive photographic tools from one of the leaders of the photo industry. Long an established leader in the film world, Nikon is a name that is immediately associated with professional and quality ...
Very good resolution and sharpness, "Kit" lens is of higher than average quality, Good color balance, Excellent noise levels at high ISO, ISO 1600 shots are usable at surprisingly large print sizes, In-camera sharpening produces almost no artifacts, ...
A tendency to underexpose by about 0.3 EV., Contrast adjustment has limited range in low-contrast direction, Auto and incandescent white balance settings still have trouble with household incandescent lighting, No Kelvin white balance option, Zoomed ...
The new Nikon D70S is an update to Nikon's previous D70 model, which continued a tradition of innovation that dates back to the early days of the Coolpix 900, and continued when Nikon rocked the SLR arena with their original D1 several years back....
The D70s is the 2005 successor to Nikon's best-selling and affordable (under $1000) 6.1-megapixel D70 digital SLR introduced last year. The D70s is well suited for beginning photo enthusiasts, hobbyists and advanced users and offers a combination of ...
As stated in the opening paragraph, Nikon's D70s is a refinement of one of the most successful amateur dSLR's ever produced. While its resolution falls 2-megapixels short of Canon's industry-leading Digital Rebel XT, the D70s offers very good shooting ...
As far as I'm concerned it's the same camera as my beloved D70 just with a bigger LCD and a remote socket but no MS-D70 disposable CR-2 battery holder. I suggest you go buy one of those holders as I explained at "battery" above.
The Nikon D70S is based on the image quality, ease of use and camera specifications found on the highly acclaimed D70 model, the D70S offers more enhancements to improve your digital SLR experience and further your photo enjoyment!
In short, although the D70S isn't the cheapest digital SLR around, the Nikon D70S does deliver the professional-level quality of a high class d-SLR with many of the convenient automated features that can make photography so much fun, be it work or ...
The Nikon D70s Body Only Digital Camera is a very good camera. I have enjoyed using it now for the last 2 weeks. Some of the features include: 6.1 megapixels (effective), auto and manual focus, program and manual exposure, JPEG and RAW file formats, ...
Quality , features, small size and battery.
None so far.
Nikon have now officially released details of the upgrade to the Nikon D70s DSLR. The changes from the original Nikon D70 are fairly minor, with upgrades to the AF system and some tweaks to the user interface.
This Nikon is a prince among DSLRs
Quick to get going; very little shutter lag; new, improved LCD screen at the back
If we complained, it would be silly
The D70s offers a good selection of features and fast autofocus, but image quality was a little disappointing.
Compared to some other digital SLRs, such as the bulky Fujifilm Finepix S2 Pro or the heavy Konica Minolta Maxxum 7D, the Nikon D70s feels small and lightweight. You can use the D70s with most lenses that use the Nikon F mount; only a few older...
Small and lightweight, fast startup and autofocus times, superb colours in manual mode
Controls can be awkward, settings cannot be saved, poor image sharpness
The small, lightweight Nikon D70s offers conveniences you won't find on many other models, though its image quality lags behind many other SLRs.
