Olympus E420

By Nick Galvin

The Olympus E420 is the trailblazer of a new class of camera best described as a "compact SLR".

Image stabilisation would have been helpful, as would more thanthree auto-focus points. But, frankly, at this small price and sizeyou can't have everything.

Olympus E-420

By Andrew Kliem

Small build, great colour balance, excellent noise performance, speedy burst mode

By Zennith Geisler

olympus e-420 review: Almost a year after its E-410 debuted as the

Small form factor, Live View with autofocus, Scene modes to help beginners get started, Super Sonic Wave Filter, No image stabilization system, Autofocus sluggish in dim environment, No dedicated focusing mode switch

No image stabilization system, Autofocus sluggish in dim environment, No dedicated focusing mode switch

Although the "pancake" is not included with the E-420, Olympus suggests it is a perfect complement to the E-420, and we agree that pairing the world's smallest dSLR with this tiny lens seems like a good fit. Outlook Along with the E-420, Olympus...

By Gavin Stoker

Every six months the camera manufacturers revamp their digital SLR line-ups, with some surprising additions. Gavin Stoker surveys the current best contenders to match all budgets and expertise levels

Olympus e-420

The glass reinforced plastic construction and mottled black exterior give the Olympus E-420 a refined finish and solid feel. Lauded as the world's smallest D-SLR on its launch, the Olympus E-420 is certainly a dinky little thing, although that may not ...
