Impressive performance, 14 megapixels at a relatively low price ; weather sealed ; nice control layout ; wireless flash control
Slightly inaccurate colors ; shake reduction could be more effective
Pentax's 14MP K20D is a great choice for a midlevel SLR and offers a lot of bang for the buck.

If you're a real enthusiast in the market for a mid-priced DSLR, the Pentax K20D is hard to beat. It is sure to be a strong competitor in its class. And if you happen to own a Pentax film SLR, the ability to use your existing lenses can save you a ...

Pentax K20D Review: The Pentax K20D is the latest entry from Pentax into the mid-priced DSLR category. In addition, this system allows for any Pentax lens, including those from earlier film SLRs, to be used with the K20D. SummaryIf you're a real...
If you have been closely following the chain of latest DSLR's around then it is quite likely that the Pentax K20D hasn't escaped your ears. Besides a 14.6 MP CMOS sensor, it also has a 2.8 inch LCD screen, image stabilization and dust proofing. ...
The K20D ($1199, body only) is the flagship model in Pentax's digital SLR lineup. While it has the features of a midrange SLR (most notably its 14.6 Megapixel sensor and weatherproof body), the K20D costs several hundred dollars less than the ...
Very good photo quality ; Good value for the money ; Very well built, weatherproof body ; Image stabilization system works with all Pentax lenses ; Full manual controls, and then some ; Unique sensitivity (Sv) and shutter/aperture priority (TAv) modes ...
Consistently underexposes ; A little noisy in low light ; Live view lags behind the competition ; LCD smaller as well ; Below average battery life ; Burst rate not as fast as other D-SLRs (even cheaper ones) ; Outdated, clunky user interface ; ...
. The cameras aren't 100% identical, with the GX20 having different menus and, reportedly, different image processing
Pentax's K20D digital SLR camera impresses with its unique feature set, while still offering a lot of quality for the price. The camera, which sells body only for $750 and packaged in a kit with an 18mm-55mm lens for $1000 (prices as of 12/10/08), is ...
High resolution Faithful color rendition
No AF assist light; have to raise flash Autofocus hunts frequently
Generally, the Pentax K20D offers good improvements over the K10D. Though its high-ISO image quality doesn't match that of the Canon XSi or the Nikon D90, it isn't far off--not a bad deal for the money, especially for current Pentax owners
The K20D has several interesting modes on its dial that are unique to Pentax. Generally, the Pentax K20D offers good improvements over the K10D. The K20D is similar in size to its closest competitors, the Canon EOS Digital Rebel XSi and the Nikon...
When the Pentax K10D-10.2 megapixels full of DSLR goodness-earned a Mac|Life Editor's Choice last year (5 out of 5 stars, Jul/07), we knew it would be a tough act to follow.
Superb image quality. Low image noise at high ISO settings. Pro-quality weatherproof build. Side-by-side image comparison. Excellent ergonomics
Flash must be raised manually when used to assist focusing. Documentation could be clearer. High-resolution continuous shooting could be faster
The K20D won't disappoint. It stands head and shoulders above other DSLRs in its class and easily goes toe-to-toe with cameras costing much more.
Award: Highly Recommended!
The feature changes between the K10D and K20D are subtle but this is mainly because there was little that the K10D needed adding to its pretty formidable features list. The changes that have been made are:
Excellent image quality at low ISO settings, Image quality still good as ISO 1600, Ergonomics up with the best of the best, Large and bright Pentaprism viewfinder (0.95x magnification), Robust body with dust and weather seals, high build quality, ...
Continuous shooting rate slow by modern standards, Hot pixels can occur and can't be automatically removed, Noise reduction cannot be raised as high as the competition, Live view mode adds very little to the camera (it is neither seamless nor able to ...
The Pentax K20D could be seen as a K10D Mk2, a camera that attempts to move on while putting right the minor flaws in its predecessor.
