XFX GeForce 8800 GTS (320MB, GDDR3)

Strong performance on 3D resolutions up to 1,920x1,280 ; accessible $300 price tag ; HDCP compliance and flawless HD video output ; next-gen graphics support

Windows Vista software drivers are not fully cooked ; the combination of a double-wide card and a lower price might be a rude surprise for some buyers ; AMD's forthcoming next-gen ATI cards remain an unknown quantity

No other 3D graphics card comes close to this bang for the buck, making the 320MB XFX GeForce 8800 GTS mostly an easy decision if you need a midrange upgrade. Nvidia still has to polish off its Vista software, and the sooner-or-later arrival of ...

In addition to that model, you'll also find the $350 GeForce 8800 GTS XXX and the $330 GeForce 8800 GTS Extreme on the market from Nvidia's various board partners. If you're wondering what makes the GeForce 8800 GTS so fast in general, we'll refer...

We know that AMD's next-gen ATI Radeon graphics cards are on the way this year, but until they make their debut, Nvidia's GeForce 8000-series cards continue to offer far-and-away the best 3D graphics performance. XFX's new 320MB GeForce 8800 GTS card ...

By Ryan Kerschner

Come take a look at the NVIDIA 8800 GS and 8800 GS XXX from XFX and see why for those of us who have to take a slower approach to upgrading our PCs, these cards are a great value. [

With each new series of videocard that comes out, it seems like the prices work their way up the ladder a little more every time. If you just can't afford to drop the serious cash required to get your hands on the hottest GPU on the market, the 8800 ...

ASUS EN8800GTS TOP 512MB

By Rob Williams

NVIDIA's 9-series might be brand-new, but the 8-series should not be overlooked. Most 8800 GTS 512 cards cost less than the 9800 GTX, and can be easily overclocked to overpower it. In the case of this pre-overclocked ASUS card, the 9800 GTX doesn't ...

"Stock" clocks for TOP version out-perform 9800 GTX, Offers best single-GPU performance of them all, ASUS version of the card best-looking on the market, Well-priced at >~$300

Like most TOP versions of ASUS cards... this one is hard to find

EVGA e-GeForce 8800 GS 384 MB

By W1zzard

Award: Editor's Choice!

Even though the EVGA e-GeForce 8800 GS comes with just 96 shaders and 12 ROPs it can easily compete with AMD HD3850 and HD3870. The card offers great price/performance and is very very quiet. With up to 30% overclocking this card is every overclocker ...

Massive overclocking possible, Very, very quiet, Affordable, great bang for the buck, Solid performance, Low power consumption, HDMI support via dongle, PCI-Express 2.0 support, Single slot design

Core overclock limited to 680 MHz, 384 MB VRAM, could be more, No HDMI dongle in the box

When I first looked at the specs of the EVGA e-GeForce 8800 GS I wasn't sure if the card had enough steam to compete in the $150-$200 segment which is basically owned by AMD's Radeon HD 3850 and HD 3870. Without overclocking the card sits nicely in ...

Product Reviews: XFX GeForce 8800 GT Alpha Dog XXX Edition

XFX is one of the few graphics card manufacturers that is allied to just one GPU company ' in its case nVidia ' and as a result, this means the firm has a very diverse product lineup, spanning every market segment. So whereas a vendor such as MSI ...

Great DirectX 10 performance, silent cooler, game bundle included, well priced.

No HDMI support out of the box.

If you're after the quickest 8800 GT on the market, you'll struggle to find a dog with more pedigree than this fantastic beast.

Product Reviews: Asus EN8800 GT 1G

Asus has a knack for producing unique products and its EN8800 GT 1G is a perfect example of this; whereas all the other cards here feature no more than 512Mbytes of memory, the Asus features a colossal 1Gbyte. So, does this extra RAM give the Asus an ...

Functional Asus software, excellent GPU cooler, three-year warranty.

Extra memory only helps in certain titles, expensive.

The Asus' extra memory is a novelty rather than a necessity. Unfortunately, it also spikes the card's price which detracts from its plus points.

By Hanners

Ironically, today we take a look at the GeForce 8800 GTS 512MB Alpha Dog XXX Edition from XFX, to see if it can follow in the illustrious footsteps of its older, smaller brother.  Never mind the insanely long product name, just what can this board ...

Asus EN8800 GTS 512MB

By Michael Brown

Nvidia's introduction of the GeForce 8800 GT left us wondering what would happen to the slightly older 8800 GTS-the model coupled with a 320MB frame buffer more so than the one paired with 640MB of memory. Nvidia cleared it all up by introducing the ...

PCI-E 2.0 ; HDCP support on both DVI links, faster than all but the 8800 GTX

A bit pricy

As such, the 8800 GTS 512 includes three important features you won't find in its older cousins: support for PCI Express 2.0, integrated PureVideo HD circuitry (for offloading all high-definition video decoding from the host CPU), and HDCP copy ...
