The Philips SHE-9850's bass response is mushy at times.

Despite the model name, Philips isn't marketing its SHE9850 In-Ear Headphones to women only. These comfortable $99.99 earphones certainly aren't bass-heavy, but they offer a reasonable amount of low-end presence. There's a bit of brightness missing ...
Affordable. Commendable low-end performance. Excellent fit.
Not the crispest treble response.
Philips's affordable SHE9850 earphones fit well and offer decent low-end response.
Despite the model name, Philips isn't marketing its SHE9850 In-Ear Headphones to women only. Philips designed the SHE9850 earphones to compete with products from Shure and Ultimate Ears—companies that are less about boosting the bass way up and...
Phillips' most recent entry into the earbud market touts an expert tuned and angled acoustic design, which reportedly provides remarkably "crisp, detailed and transparent"...
Very comfortable ; good sound quality ; nice carrying case ; thick cord
Single driver design ; lacks noise canceling features

Mid-range earphones
General sound quality ; warm tone ; great comfort ; good sound isolation ; snug and secure ; suitable for gym use
Lack of deep bass ; less inspiring treble performance
An excellent all-rounder, with good detail, a balanced, warm sound and superb comfort and fit. Deeper bass and brighter treble exists in competing models, but for almost all genres of music and in most listening environments, the SHE9850s will impress ...
It's easy to fail when you're making a media streamer. Many have tried to do it and almost all have come unstuck. Even Apple, masters of good design and intuitive user interfaces, fell at virtually the first hurdle with Apple TV. When we heard about...
Time for a headphone upgrade?
That Christmas morning joy of breaking into the box is all here and interestingly, once you are inside the package the message reads "Only feel the music". Unfortunately, we could feel every footstep, every cough, every chew of the apple.
Good design but a bit over emphasized mids.
The Philips SHE 9850 is the top of the line in-ear monitor (IEM) from Philips that promises to deliver accurate audio reproduction. The SHE 9850 has a metal housing and a 1.2 meters long symmetrical cable that ends with a gold plated 3.5mm jack. ...
THESE headphones could have punchier bass, but they do offer a smooth and well-balanced sound.
Clear sweet highs, great detail, wide soundstage
Bass a little uncontrolled, short cord
Philips' SHE9850 headphones are another strong entry into the mid-range IEM space. Their bass could be a little punchier and more controlled, but for the price they offer a clear, smooth and well-balanced sound.
The SHE9850 headphones are strong performers overall. It's hard for canal-phones to look too stylish, but Philips has done a pretty good job here with the black tips and gunmetal driver case contrasting nicely.

For this price, the SHE9850s are shouting in the same arena as Denon, Shure and Etymotic - manufacturers whose names are ubiquitous with high performance earphones. Truly, Philips has produced an excellent pair of earphones here, and as they can...
