BlueAnt V1

Award: Editor's Choice!

The BlueAnt V1 is the world's first voice-controlled headset. It does not require voice recognition training and is easy to comprehend and use. The built-in capability to call GOOG-411 is a nice bonus. The audio quality is excellent, with top-notch ...

The BlueAnt V1 doesn't feel secure without the ear hook and the ear tip may fit a little too deep in the ear for some people. Its design is also a little on the boring side.

The BlueAnt V1 may not wow us design-wise, but its voice controls and excellent audio quality more than make up for it.

We've grown to be pretty big fans of BlueAnt headsets over the past year, especially with the BlueAnt Z9 and the BlueAnt Z9i. The BlueAnt V1 is what BlueAnt is calling the world's first voice-controlled Bluetooth headset. If you've seen the...

V1

By Aoife M. McEvoy

The BlueAnt V1 offers one feature that no other Bluetooth headset I've tested does: integrated voice control. The $130 (as of December 1, 2008) BlueAnt comes with its own voice-controlled interface, called BlueGenie. This technology, created by a ...

If you're in a noisy environment, you can turn on the Max voice-isolation setting (by tapping the call button once), which will help remove noise and allow you to keep talking. When I had my tunes blaring louder than usual, the person on the other end ...

BlueAnt V1 Voice Control

By Jamie Lendino

BlueAnt's stylish V1 Voice Control is a fun Bluetooth headset with novel voice-enabled controls, but competing headsets edge it out in overall sound quality.

Stylish. Lightweight. Plenty of volume. Transparent voice-enabled interface.

On the expensive side. Slightly unnatural voice timbre. Voice-dialing feature is a little buggy.

In fact, besides its color, it's a dead ringer for the BlueAnt Z9i, a model that lacks the V1's voice control structure but costs $30 less. On the other hand, the V1's Voice Isolation or noise-cancellation technology worked as advertised: In...

Review: BlueAnt V1 Voice Control Bluetooth Headset

By Jeremy Horwitz

iPhone and iPhone 3G users won't see any benefit from the company's upgrade to Bluetooth 2.1 technology in V1, and they'll also note that the talk time has decreased to five hours from the Z9i, despite the fact that this earpiece is a hint larger and ...

In the big picture, we consider the V1 to be a nice upgrade over the Z9i and a strong alternative to the latest version of the Jawbone. BlueAnt's offering doesn't match Aliph's for high-noise environments, but its good noise cancellation is bettered ...

Compact design, comfortable to wear, included accessories, BlueGenie voice user interface, excellent sound quality

Silver finish, handling of speed dialling could be improved
