Lightweight; elegant design; simple layout; good connection quality at full signal strength
Reception falters when signal strength weakens; so-so battery life; half-second delay when making phone calls, adjusting volume, changing menus; small screen
This Wi-Fi phone for Skype users works well, but it's not worth the price unless you use the service frequently.
It may cost less and deliver longer talk time than the competing Netgear device, but the Belkin Wi-Fi Phone for Skype still isn't a bargain--and certainly nothing to call home about.
Much less expensive than the comparable Netgear device. Makes fairly clear calls. Supports both WEP and WPA security. Easy to use.
Still pricey. On public-access Wi-Fi, works only with the rare, completely open network that requires no browser authentication. Lacks USB-to-PC connectivity. Entering contact info and the like using the phone keypad is cumbersome.
As with the competing Netgear product, this is a nifty toy for the gadget fiend who has plenty of disposable income and doesn't mind limited connectivity options. Others should save their money.
Once you connect to a network, the Belkin Wi-Fi Phone for Skype (a wireless VoIP phone) works well and makes fairly clear calls, but I'd be a lot more excited about it if the price dropped to, say, $50 or $75. Conveniently, the Belkin Wi-Fi Phone...
With this mobile Skype phone from Belkin, you can take it out on theroad, piggybacking from one Wi-Fi hotspot to another and Skype people to your heart's content.
Mobile Skype, Lightweight and simple, Great voice quality
Clunky software, Unresponsive keypad, Poor, small screen
A great idea, and works as advertised, but the phone could be more responsive, have more features and a better build quality.
With this Wi-Fi connecting handset, you can almost use Skype VoIP like a mobile phone. You don't need to have a computer connected to the net, or even turned on. All you need is a wireless internet connection and you're away
Simple and easy to use
Clunky and feels easy to break
Overall a fabulous toy that makes using Skype a doddle
The actual phone feels a bit clunky and the keys are asking for lint attack

Clunky and feels easy to break
The actual set itself feels a bit clunky though. It's styled like an old Sony Ericsson mobile, but is slightly bigger and feels a lot less sturdy. The buttons have a lot of travel and are just asking for pocket lint to fuzz up the contacts. Still, it's ea...

As the most well-known brand in internet telephony, Skype has become popular for offering free global phone calls. While its generally necessary to use a PC as a base for your Skype calls, the Belkin Phone makes it even easier to stay in touch
Easy to use, bright menu, Sleek and stylish
Build quality isn't great
If everyone had a Skype phone, these would be even better

This has one clever plus on the large range of Skype phones, to use this the PC does not need to be turned on. So provided you have a wireless router that's it.

Today I am taking a look at the Belkin Wi-Fi phone for Skype... Skype, Skype, Skype, I always sing the praises of Skype. For those of you who do not know, Skype allows you to use your broadband connection to make voice and video calls to other users Macs
Skype is the biggest player in the VoIP market, and has teamed up with Belkin to create this WiFi VoIP mobile with Skype software built in.
Stylish design, easy to use, can work independently of a Mac, offers cheap international phone calls
Phone quality is so erratic as to make it unusable, limited WiFi access in the UK, The Cloud Ultra Talk service not yet priced
The Macworld team was genuinely excited by news of this product, and have been waiting for weeks to test one. Sadly, it simply doesn€™t work. As an example of future-tech, the Belkin Wi-Fi Phone is interesting; but as a viable product to buy i
