New BlueTrack mouse sensor works on almost any surface ; well-designed rechargeable base station ; included rechargeable battery ; snap-in USB receiver
No dpi toggle button ; mushy scroll wheel
The Microsoft Explorer Mouse deserves your attention for its BlueTrack sensor technology that lets you use it on surfaces where other mice fail. Laptop owners, or anyone else who uses a nondeskbound computer, will benefit from Microsoft's innovative ...
Had Microsoft introduced the Explorer Mouse two years ago, we might have shrugged. For roughly $70, Microsoft's Explorer Mouse will give you that flexibility, by virtue of its proprietary BlueTrack sensor. The Explorer Mouse is one of two products...
The Explorer Mouse is a solid mouse. If you're constantly working on non-standard surfaces, then the Explorer Mouse is probably right for you.
Solid feel ; good tracking reliability ; efficient battery recharging
Finicky scrolling ; awkward left-hand use
They might seem old fashioned, but trackball mice have one thing going for them: so long as there is a solid surface, you can always use a trackball mouse and it will work. However, when you need high precision tracking and speed, optical and laser ...
If you're willing to pay the price, you'll get superior tracking on just about any surface (other than mirrored ones or glass) with the Microsoft Explorer Mini Mouse ($80 street), which uses the same new BlueTrack technology as it's bigger relative, ...
Small. Convenient snap-in transceiver. Tracks exceptionally well. Good battery life
Pricey. Not for lefties. Lack of clicky scroll-wheel detents makes line-by-line scrolling difficult
The Explorer Mini Mouse is a good notebook companion, given its portability and tracking system, but you'll have to fork over some bucks for it.
And, as you might suspect, because of its compactness, the mouse isn't all that ergonomic for those who don't have small hands.
Is this the mouse for the explorer in you?
Really does work anywhere
Aside from the BlueTrack tech it is nothing special
As a mouse the Microsoft Explorer is your average mouse. It's comfortable, easy to use, but nothing out of the ordinary
Another Microsoft product another use of the explorer moniker. But is this finally a product from Microsoft really worth the "Explorer" name? There are two variants of the Microsoft Explorer, a full on desktop model and a mini version suitable for...
Microsoft enjoys a profitable sideline making keyboards and mice, and the Microsoft Explorer Mouse seems likely to continue its run of quiet success.
Comfortable to use, reasonably good-looking and proficient in the wireless department, the Microsoft Explorer Mouse is a thoroughly decent piece of kit.
Once upon a time, mice had balls. Then they got LEDs instead, producing the familiar red optical mouse glow. More recently, some mice have replaced the LEDs with lasers, getting better results in some circumstances and worse in others
The best a mouse can get? A superb mouse, if you don't mind shelling out for it.
THE latest Microsoft Explorer mouse combines precise tracking technology with a good design.
BlueTrack technology is precise, nice design, easy button configuration, Mac OS X support
Not ambidextrous, no DPI stepping, large grip
This mouse combines precise tracking technology with a decent design. For the average user the mouse certainly isn't revolutionary, but it's a reasonable cost for a decent improvement in precision.
The Explorer Mouse certainly isn't the ugliest Microsoft mouse we've come across. (The Wireless Laser Mouse 7000 springs to mind as one of the uglier ones to come out of Redmond.) A three-tone grey colour scheme makes for an attractive look,......

microsoft explorer mouse review: Microsoft's new desktop mouse conquers surfaces no mouse has conquered before. It also happens to be very good.

The Microsoft Explorer Mouse has revolutionary Microsoft BlueTrack Technology, which works more places than ever before, including on granite countertops, carpet - even on a wood table or a rough, unfinished park bench. It has a 30ft wireless range ...
Is it time to chuck out your laser mouse now that Microsoft's BlueTrack has arrived?
Let's find out, as we take a look at the new Microsoft Explorer Mouse. As for the dongle, while it's nowhere near as small as Logitech's tiny one as seen with its V550 Nano Cordless Laser Notebook Mouse, Microsoft's one is still quite compact, and...
