Apple iPod touch (3rd Generation)

By Tim Gideon

Award: Editor's Choice!

So, how do you improve the mighty iPod touch? Hmm. That's a question that seems to have Apple stumped. The third generation of iPod touches looks identical to the 2nd generation models, but the capacities and prices are improved: 8GB ($199), 32GB ( ...

The best touch-screen portable media player you can buy. Increased capacities at lower prices. Faster processor in 32GB and 64GB models. Top-notch Web browser. iTunes improvements include Genius Mixes, Genius-based app recommendations, and app ...

Bundled earbuds still stink. Audio file support doesn't include FLAC or OGG. Browser still lacks Flash support

There are few major changes from last year's touch: The best iPod around gets a speed boost, a capacity increase, a lower price tag, and some modest Genius feature improvements. One thing remains the same: The competition is still lagging.

The new iPod touch doesn't just look like the old touch—it's identical. Apple rates the battery life for the iPod touch at 30 hours for audio playback and 6 hours for video. The third generation of iPod touches looks identical to the 2nd...

Apple iPod touch 3G Review

By Ewdison Then

Apple surprised many people at their recent iPod launch event by focusing on the iPod nano rather than their flagship touchscreen PMP, the iPod touch.  Still,

Review: Apple Inc. iPod touch (Third-Generation)

By Jeremy Horwitz

Under different circumstances, calling the "late 2009" iPod touch (32GB/$299, 64GB/$399) a true "third-generation" model would be easier: a look inside its casing reveals a place for a camera that, despite photographic evidence to the contrary, never ...

For the time being, Apple's late 2009 iPod lineup has two clear standout products-the iPod nano and iPod touch-with the classic and shuffle falling behind them to varying degrees. Though we really like the iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS, particularly ...

Apple iPod Nano Review

Take everything you love about iPod and shrink it. Now shrink it again. The pencil-thin iPod nano packs the entire iPod experience into an impossibly small design. So small, it will take your music places you never dreamed of.

Up to 4 GB(2) of skip-free storage on a featherweight iPod means you can wear almost three days' worth of music around your neck. Or jog with 1,000 songs on your arm. Now that you can take your music everywhere, there's no limit to where it will take ...

Apple iPod touch (3rd gen, 64GB)

By Derek Chesterfield

Apple's third-generation iPod touch may lack a camera, but it's the best portable media player that you can currently get your hands on. As well as sporting a number of useful new features, such as voice control, a faster processor means it performs ...

Faster performance than previous models ; easy to use ; great screen ; good sound quality

No camera ; headphone jack sits on the bottom of the player

Apple's third-generation iPod touch may lack a camera, but, offering faster performance than its predecessors and new features, like voice control, it remains the cream of the portable-media-player crop. There's really no other device out there at the ...

It seems everyone and his dog expected Apple's latest iPod touch to include a camera, but, sadly, that's not the case. Instead, the new version boasts a faster processor that makes it feel more responsive, and an updated operating system. The...

Apple iPod touch (3rd Gen)

By Dan Sung

The Emperor's new iPod?

Wonderfully fast, fantastically smooth and still a dream to hold

Serious camera disappointment, bad headphones and fairly pricey

Even more the pocket computer than it was before with the added power and bigger memory. It's not the gaming machine Apple wants it to be yet but it still the best in its class as a PMP.

iPod touch 64GB

The iPod touch got perhaps the least attention of any iPod in the line-up's latest revamp. Stand this model beside its predecessors and you wouldn't know the difference. Externally, it's nigh-on identical, with a polished-steel back, a blanking plate ...

At 299 (254 ex VAT), the 64GB touch isn't cheap - not when you can save yourself 110 and still get your hands on a 160GB classic. What you're paying for then, isn't capacity, but features and iPhone OS 3.1's brilliant brain. When Apple CEO, Steve Jobs ...
