iriver E100

By Tim Gideon

This slickly styled player is easy on the eyes, but it's simply frustrating to use.

Slick design. microSD slot. Strong file support. FM radio and recording. Voice recording and line-in recording.

Photos and video don't look so great on the not-so-sharp screen. Uninspired user interface. Difficult navigation. Many settings and options are difficult to find.

iriver knows how to make good portable media players, like the venerable Clix and the Clix gen 2, so the E100 is a bit of a disappointment. It worksjust not gracefully or intuitively.

For product support, visit http://www.iriver.com/support/ask.aspCompare the iriver E100 with several other MP3 Players side by side The fun factor isn't so important in, say, a lawnmower or a dishwasher, but a portable media player should be fun...

E100

By Yardena Arar

With its cream-colored plastic casing and minimalist controls (the entire area beneath the 2.4-inch display is a four-way mechanical rocker with a small center button), iRiver's E100 resembles a slightly overweight Apple Nano--or maybe a small early ...

Versatile media player Competitive price

Mediocre audio Unintuitive interface

iRiver makes some slick and stylish portable music and media players, but the E100 isn't at the top of the list. Between its unprepossessing industrial design, ho-hum audio, and difficult user interface, I didn't find much to recommend it

The 46-page manual bundled with the device proved helpful, but not many buyers will have the patience to leaf through it, and many of the E100's features should be more readily accessible.iRiver makes some slick and stylish portable music and...

iRiver E100

By Nate Lanxon

If you're not fussed about Apple's iPod range, the iRiver E100 offers great sound quality, simple operation and a pleasant design for not a lot of dosh. Providing both music and video capabilities, this player will reward you with some great features ...

Sound quality ; price ; simple operation ; easy line-in recording ; excellent internal microphone

Screen quality ; video performance ; navigation pad is unresponsive at times ; microSD contents not imported into main library

The iRiver E100 is a nice player with excellent sound quality and a good price. We feel it's still inferior to Creative's Zen or Apple's iPod nano in terms of screen quality, but its painfully simple operation makes it a good choice for MP3 newbies or ...

The Samsung R700 is an exciting prospect for several reasons. Firstly, it's large and powerful enough to replace your existing desktop PC. Secondly, it's relatively inexpensive -- just ? or ? if you buy the slightly more advanced R700 T8100 model...

iRiver E100 MP3 player

By Stephen Patrick

Will this replace your iPod?

Great audio playback, easy to use

Poor screen, plastic look to it

While not the most expensive of MP3 players, the E100 has a satisfactory screen for the price and a sound quality well above average

Sure, you can use Windows Media Player but we found simply dragging files over the easiest method.disable ad VERDICT The iRiver E100 has a number of great features ? it's easy to set-up and use and the overall sound quality is great and as a...

Review: Iriver E100 : Akihabara News .com

By Cutkillavince

Here it is, the iRiver E100 review. No need to hide it any longer, the E100 is an excellent product. Very well built and, at a price of 129â?¬ for…

+ Excellent audio quality, + D-Click system, + MicroSD port, + MTP/UMS (the player is detected as an external drive), + Price to quality ratio, + All around player (Audio, Vidoo, Photo, Text, FM radio, voice recorder), + Design

- No Bluetooth, - Battery Life in Video mode, - D-Click sometimes lacks reactivity

Looks like I got myself a winner here and a superior mp3 player to the ipod. Open standards is what I've been looking for since my first (and last) iPod years ago. *I* should be in control of how my music is organized in files and folders when put ...

iRiver E100 Media Player - 8GB

By Jonathan Bray

Does iRiver's E100 media player stand out from the crowd? Jon dons the cans to find out.

But, all-in-all, the E100 is not a player I'd be happy recommending. Apart from its good quality audio output, decent range of features and Flac support, there's very little about this player that makes it stand out from the competition. And it has ...

The latest player from iRiver - the 8GB E100 - comes from the opposite school of thought, putting practicality before looks. Slim and sleek design often masks a neglect of basic features - the Meizu MiniPlayer SL 8GB I reviewed in these pages...

iRiver E100

By Andrew Kliem

THE iRiver E100 has a few interface and screen issues, however it will satisfy most users' needs.

Wide variety of file formats supported, good audio quality, simple to understand menu system

Unintuitive controls, sluggish at times, screen not as impressive as competition

While it does the job just fine, iRiver's flash based portable media player the E100 does have a few niggling issues that set it back a notch from some of the competition.

What iRiver has done is try to stick with the layout used on past models, such as the Clix, where arrows in each corner of the display corresponded to different functions. Aside from these issues, the E100 operates fairly well. However, you'll...

While it does the job just fine, iRiver's flash based portable media player the E100 does have a few niggling issues that set it back a notch from some of the competition.

This is evidenced by iRiver's latest entry-level player: the E100. However, other companies, such as iRiver, are still fighting for their piece of the pie. What iRiver has done is try to stick with the layout used on past models, such as the Clix,...
