Rugged design with rubber cover ; touch-screen option
Tiny keyboard ; big and heavy for a Netbook
Aimed primarily at school kids, the Dell Latitude 2100 is an interesting new take on the Netbook. It's worth a look if the unique features--including an especially rugged design and a touch screen--are important to you.
Dell's Latitude 2100 offers a unique set of features, intended primarily for education markets, but possibly also of interest to consumers with specific needs. Dell Latitude 2100Average for category [Netbook]VideoVGAVGAAudioheadphone/microphone...
The Dell Latitude 2100 is a lot like a box of Froot Loops: It's clearly meant for kids but also easily enjoyed (sometimes secretly) by adults.
Cool, tough rubber exterior coating. Adult-sized keyboard also accommodates the smallest hands. Responsive trackpad. Snappy performance. Clear window on front of chassis meant for student's name tag
Tattletale web browsing light a little too Big Brother for our tastes. Optional extras drive up the price tag quickly. Chunky monkey power adapter
Student-rugged design, Unique education features, Comfortable keyboard with antimicrobial option, Speedy performance
Larger and heavier than most netbooks, Below-average battery life

A durable netbook for people on the move
Sturdy build, dual channel RAM support, low maintenance finish, good battery life
Not the best looking netbook, a bit heavy
If you can bargain for the right spec Latitude 2100 at the right price, you'll have an excellent netbook and one we prefer to Dell's 'consumer' version.
Its rather angular design aside, we think the Latitude 2100 is the best Dell netbook to date. The rubberised coating should ensure long-term survival even in the hands of nippers, while the option of 2GB of Ram, the revised SD card slot design and the ...
