HP iPAQ 214 - it's been time - MobileArsenal PDA/GPS review

By Bocha

Award: Editor's Choice!

HP made a daring move: no matter the popularity of combo devices, they have released a classic PDA. They did it well.

The sample device came in a really clumsy box; the hand of a wizard puts apps on the iPAQ - it doesn't matter anyway, it's not this that will sell the device. The list of accessories includes an install CD, manual, leather case, charger with ...

Our current review I something like that too, as HP's national representative, after some delays, has finally managed to send a sample of their new HP iPAQ 214. HP iPAQ 214 is currently available at a gross price under € 350 and I think the huge...

HP iPAQ 210 - Windows Mobile PDA Reviews by Mobile Tech Review

By operating system) of Program Memory, 256MB (162.55

In this day of electronics convergence, our cell phones, PDAs, MP3 players, etc., all compress down into one multi-purpose device that does everything but style our hair. This results in a compromised device, usually with a small screen and a battery ...

Awesome 4" 16-bit color screen ; User-accessible 121MB RAM and 162MB Storage Memory ; Nice button layout and 4-way selector ; Mini-USB and 24-pin iPAQ synchronization methods ; Bluetooth 2.0 with EDR ; SDHC and CF card slots ; Lots of value-added ...

Large size (1/4" larger than advertised) ; ActiveSync 4.5 and Windows Mobile Device Center aren't always a joy to use ; Silly default battery icon on the Today screen Task Bar

The HP iPAQ 200-series returns to us the strength of a powerful PDA with a decent sized screen and ample memory and storage capacity, and a good battery. The 210 raises the pocket laptop to a new level for road warriors. The high-speed 802.11g WiFi ...

Following HP's release of a "consumer" PDA late last fall in the QVGA iPAQ 110, they have now offered the much-anticipated iPAQ 200-series for sale. Its compact form holds the iPAQ without the battery installed, slipcase, 2200 mAh battery, 24-pin...

HP iPAQ 214 Enterprise PDA

By Stephen Patrick

Will this phone-free PDA meet your needs?

Big, bright screen, enhanced software

Unconnected, bulky

The smartphone may have all but killed off the unconnected PDA but this is a great tool for those who need Wi-Fi access

However the HP iPAQ 214 Enterprise is the latest update of the line aimed at IT professionals and those users who place versatility above connectivity. It found our network instantly and once we'd entered the password we were up and running: it's...

HP iPaq 212 Enterprise Handheld

By John Chan

Though designed for deployment in companies for specialized tasks, the 212 is a good candidate for those looking for a dedicated PDA with decent multimedia capabilities.

4-inch VGA display ; two memory card slots ; fast processor ; good video playback

Very bulky and heavy ; speakers not very loud ; colors displayed could be better

One of the main reasons the 212 is so large is because of its enormous display--one that measures 4 inches diagonally and has a resolution of 640 x 480 (VGA). Text displayed on this screen appears sharp, and the increased real estate makes sure you ...

HP iPaq 214 Enterprise

The iPaq 214 sports a 4-inch screen, which adds to the overall bulk of the unit

Good screen ; Great connectivity ; supports 2 types of memory card

Lacklustre performance ; Slightly bulky

HP has done a fantastic job of updating the iPaq 214 Enterprise and of modifying Mobile Windows 6 to help the iPaq run as smoothly as possible. While the screen adds to the device's overall bulk, it's a good size to use out in the field

However, HP continues to support it for its business customers and the HP iPaq 214 Enterprise (£225 inc. HP has done a fantastic job of updating the iPaq 214 Enterprise and of modifying Mobile Windows 6 to help the iPaq run as smoothly as possible.

Hewlett Packard - iPAQ 214

With no SIM support or camera the iPAQ 214 is not what you'd call cutting edge. But its large screen means it is better at some visually demanding tasks than many other PDAs.

HP iPAQ 212

By Ross Catanzariti

Excellent, vibrant display ; CF and SD card slots for extra storage ; solid performance

No built-in GPS, design is a little large and bulky, external speaker volume could have been louder

The iPAQ's VGA display alone makes it an excellent PDA while the dual-storage slots make it easy to upgrade memory. This is a solid, high-end device for professionals.

Measuring 4in, the iPAQ 212 has a VGA resolution of 640x480. The iPAQ 212 runs the Windows Mobile 6 Classic OS, so it naturally features Office Mobile, consisting of mobile versions of Excel, PowerPoint and Word. The iPAQ 212 is a solid e-mail...

THIS is a solid, high-end device for professionals, and the VGA display makes it an excellent PDA.

Measuring 4", the iPAQ 212 has a VGA resolution of 640x480. That being said, we think the advantage of the large VGA display outweighs the negatives of the bulky form factor - after all, HP has targeted this device at enterprise and business users.
