Polaroid PoGo Instant Digital Camera

One of the benefits of being a reviewer is that occasionally you get play with something that's just plain fun. The Polaroid PoGo Instant Digital Camera ($200 street, complete with a standard 1-year warranty) is that kind of toy...uh...product. It ...

Easy setup. JPG image quality equivalent to the best camera phones. Print quality suitable for wallet-size photos. It's fun

Prints photos at only 2 by 3 inches. Relatively low image quality by today's standards for both JPG file and printed output

Despite some limitations, the Polaroid PoGo Instant Digital Camera delivers more than good enough image quality for its intended purpose, and it's fun to use too.

Pogo Instant Digital Camera

By Melissa J. Perenson

The Polaroid PoGo Instant Digital Camera represents a logical evolution for Polaroid. The company may have stopped producing film for its famed instant cameras (the first came out over 60 years ago), but the name lives on, synonymous with photo prints ...

Built-in printer works on images stored on SD Card

Image quality, print and digital, is poor

Ultimately, if you covet the instant and fun prints that Zink technology enables, I'd recommend the Polaroid PoGo printer--which is now $100, a full $50 less than it was when it debuted last year--over the $199 Polaroid Instant Digital Camera

But poor imaging and kludgy design not unlike that of 1.1-megapixel cameras of a dozen years ago make the PoGo Instant Digital Camera an unnecessary drain on your pocket. In size, shape, and weight, the boxy Instant Digital Camera closely matches...

Polaroid PoGo

By Gordon Mah Ung

If you still get warm and fuzzy thinking about those James Garner and Mariette Hartley Polaroid commercials, it's time to let go of the past. Traditional film is barely hanging on, and Polaroid has completely ceased production of instant film. But ...

Pogo

By Melissa J. Perenson

The camera world may have gone digital, but the name Polaroid remains synonymous with instant photo prints. So it's not surprising that Polaroid has introduced the $150 PoGo portable printer.

Small, battery-operated printer Prints are adequate

Power adapter is nearly the size of the printer

In the end, the PoGo's appeal lies in its mobility and its near-instantaneous picture production. The $150 price is steep for what amounts to a one-trick gimmick printer. But that doesn't detract from the silly fun people can have by printing pictures ...

Polaroid PoGo Portable Printer

By Daniel Dumas

Remember that song, "Hey Ya!" by OutKast? Good song, but overplayed to the point where everyone from your Grandma to your 4-year-old niece was shaking it "like a Polaroid picture."

It'll take you longer to actually line up, compose, and shoot a decent photo than it will to transfer that same photo to the Pogo. Thermal ZINK photo paper is a hoot to use. Adhesive back is ingenious.

Colors are washed out. Wouldn't it be awesome, I mean really awesome, if you had to shake the heat-sensitive paper once or twice to make it develop?

Polaroid PoGo Instant Mobile Printer

By M. David Stone

The Polaroid PoGo Instant Mobile Printer is small enough to bring everywhere, so you can print pictures as soon as you take them.

Fits in a pocket. Easy setup. Prints from PictBridge cameras and over Bluetooth connections.

Photos are only 2- by 3-inches. Color quality is less than ideal.

The Polaroid PoGo Instant Mobile Printer is strong on gadget appeal, but it's limited to a 2- by 3-inch photo size and less than ideal photo quality.

But in any case, the Polaroid PoGo Instant Mobile Printer delivers what it promises: the freedom to print a picture at any time and any place with ease Polaroid has wisely gathered compatibility information on its Web site so you can find out...

Polaroid PoGo Instant Mobile Printer

By Ted Gibbons

When Polaroid's film cameras bit the dust thanks to the digital onslaught, photographic instant gratification went with them. Yes, you can snap photos on your phone or digital compact and show everyone on the LCD screen, but that's not the same as ...

Not much bigger than a compact digital camera itself, the PoGo has a rechargeable lithium ion battery and uses ZINK Zero Ink technology to produce its images. ZINK works by putting the print dye crystals right in the paper and using rapid heat pulses ...

Polaroid PoGo Instant Digital Camera review

By Melissa J Perenson

Polaroid has integrated a portable printer into the chassis of its PoGo Instant Digital Camera, in a move that's innovative in concept at least.

Ultimately, if you covet the instant and fun prints that Zink technology enables, we'd recommend the Polaroid PoGo printer over this. In concept, at least, the device is innovative. But poor imaging and unattractive design make the PoGo Instant ...

Now Polaroid has integrated its PoGo portable instant printer into the body of a digital camera, in the form of the Polaroid PoGo Instant Digital Camera. Unfortunately, we found the camera's design and image quality sorely lacking: the reborn,...
