5.1-channel multimedia speaker set with 2.4GHz wireless surround speakers ; Dolby Digital, DTS, DTS 96/24, and PCM 96/24 decoder ; wireless remote control ; multiple digital ins ; THX certified
Expensive ; less powerful than Logitech's Z-5500 ; bandpass subwoofer sounds boomy ; can interfere with wireless phones
It's not as powerful as Logitech's wired Z-5500, but the benefits of the Z-5450's wireless rear-channel speakers outweigh the minor quality issues.
Performance of Logitech Z-5450 Digital 5.1In less than 15 minutes, we easily set up the Logitech Z-5450 Digital 5.1 speaker system and plugged it into our PC's 5.1-channel Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS sound card. Design of Logitech Z-5450 Digital...
We take a very thorough look at Logitech's Z-5450 wireless speaker kit and see if they are worth the high asking price. Introduction
Overall as a mid-high-end digital speaker sound system, the Z-5450's are very competent indeed sporting many inputs on the fantastic self contained decoder and providing multiple mounting options. Let us not forget the innovative and potentially trend ...

suggested retail price is a little high, but it's not hard to find them at a discounted price, 6.5" subwoofer may not be enough for those that have a hunger for some deep heart-thumping bass, No optical cable included
I was quite impressed by the Logitech Z-5450s. Installation was a very simple and the wireless rear speakers worked right away without a hitch. These speakers offer great sound quality, practical design, and a wealth of input options. Although they ...
The only problem with the 5450 is that the rear speakers hiss slightly. We believe this is due to the power circuitry residing so close to the actual cones within the speakers.
If you're looking for full-on aural immersion, the Logitech's exceptional power and flawless crossover make it an ideal buy.
Compared to the other 5.1 sets in this test, the 5450 is the only one to feature wireless rear speakers (sound is transmitted to these from the Logitech's breakout box via a 2.4GHz transmitter). The Logitechs also handled crossover very well and...
The only problem we had with the speakers was with a faint yet audible hiss that emanated from both rear speakers, which was largely noticeable when no sound was playing. Reconnecting and repositioning the speakers didn't help.
Offer serious punch and full 5.1 support, but the faint hiss was an niggling surprise.
Logitech has attempted to make things a little easier with its new Z-5450 speaker set. When put to the test, the Logitech's performed quite well.

Wireless Surround speakers. Flexible input options. Cordless remote. Integrated multichannel decoders. Easy wall-mounting.
Idiosyncratic frequency response. Mounting satellites on stands is tricky. Pricey.
The biggest reason to buy the Logitech Z-5450 Digital instead of Logitech's more powerful, less expensive Z-5500 is the Z-5450's pair of nifty wireless surround satellites.
The pioneering Logitech Z-5450 Digital is pricier than most in its class but is the first well-implemented wireless desktop system we've found. The test setup blasted out our noise sample at 97 dB (measured at 18 inches)—about as loud as a subway...

Logitech's wireless PC speakers promise to remove a few cables from your home office - but do they deliver for gaming and movies?
Wireless. THX support. External inputs
Wi-Fi interference. No backlight on the remote. Unsubtle sound
This 5.1 speaker bundle from Logitech comes with its own digital decoder and is the first in the world with wireless rears to be THX-certified. But does wireless come with a compromise on sound?
Wireless rear speakers ; clean
A small audio sweet spot ; can struggle with low bass response
Won't blow your socks off but has accurate sound reproduction.____________________________________________________ Page: 1 [2]
