If DLT is already your chosen backup method, this drive is a great upgrade, giving you higher capacity and speed. However, first-time tape buyers should think carefully whether this format, with its single drive vendor, is a good long-term choice.

Higher native capacity, backwards-compatible with older DLT tapes, competitive with other tape formats.

Effectively a single-vendor format, can only read older DLT tapes, not write.
