You can't stream secure AAC files purchased from the iTunes store, there are no audio inputs or built-in CD player, the menu loads sluggishly with Yahoo Music Engine, and tone adjustment is absent. Also, the SoundBridge Radio lacks an Ethernet port ...

The Roku SoundBridge Radio successfully combines a high-end AM/FM clock radio and a wireless digital audio receiver, but we'd like to see a few more extras at this price.

Design of Roku SoundBridge RadioMeasuring 6 by 11 by 6.5 inches (HWD), the Roku SoundBridge Radio is smaller than the competing Bose Wave Music System in all dimensions except for its height. Features of Roku SoundBridge RadioThe Roku SoundBridge...

Roku SoundBridge Radio

By Michael Brown

It's hard to imagine a middle-class American's bedroom that's not equipped with a clock radio.

But before we go into full Bam Bam mode, let's examine this product's positive attributes, which include a terrific 280x32 vacuum fluorescent display, an equally good browser, and an above-average remote control. Unlike other streaming boxes we've ...

Roku SoundBridge Radio

By Mike Kobrin

Full sound for its size. Works with Macs and PCs. Excellent documentation. Supports WMA Lossless and PlaysForSure.

The SoundBridge Radio won't replace a multispeaker stereo system, but it's certainly a viable solution for getting audio from your PC to your den, bedroom, or kitchen wirelessly.

The Roku SoundBridge Radio ($399 list) may not look like much on the outside, but it works surprisingly well. All Shots Housed in a single 11- by 6- by 6.5-inch black plastic cabinet weighing about 5 pounds, the SoundBridge Radio looks like a...

All-in-one wireless music box offers good sound and more listening options than you can shake a stick at.

By Dan Frakes

Roku's SoundBridge Radio is a unique product that combines the functionality of a wireless music player, the convenience of an AM/FM table radio, and the practicality of a well-designed alarm clock into a compact-and good sounding-package. It works as ...

Combines a wireless audio player, AM/FM radio, alarm clock, and speaker system in a compact "table radio" package ; easy setup ; good sound quality ; works with many music servers and software players ; supports DRM from a number of music services ; ...

No support for Apple Lossless or iTunes Music Store formats ; no support for WPA security ; no line-in jack ; various interface quirks ; some features available only from Radio, others only from remote ; no Ethernet jack (wireless only) ; no RDS support

Included with the SoundBridge radio is a wireless remote control, power cable, FM wire antenna, AM antenna, and AM antenna adapter (to be used with AM antennas that connect via two wires rather than the Radio's 1/8" minijack)

Roku's new $400 SoundBridge Radio () is the first product we've seen that combines these two product categories: The SoundBridge Radio puts the functionality of Roku's SoundBridge players, along with an AM/FM radio and dual-alarm clock, into an...

Roku Soundbridge Radio

The Roku SoundBridge Radio draws on the technology that did so well in the heart of Soundbridge M1000 and slides into a standalone unit.

Easy to set up

Omission of DAB radio

A useful idea but has too many niggles to fully recommend

Despite its capabilities, you can't help feeling that the Roku SoundBridge Radio should do so much more, particularly for the incredibly high price. The SoundBridge Radio accesses your music in the same way that the speaker-free versions did....

Ultimately it's the styling that undermines it the most - it's appearance is too cheap and tacky to look like it costs £300. It feels more like a geek toy rather than a real consumer device and in this case, that isn't a good thing
