More emphasis on the open-ended environments would have been welcome, but a more exciting (though shorter) campaign, a new multiplayer mode, and a whole bunch of new maps make Crysis Warhead an excellent expansion to one of last year's best...
Improved weapon choices and better performance
Smaller game world ; bad lag on multiplayer matches
Crysis: Warhead finally gives the player the tools to set up elaborate ambushes, but at the same time, the player's path through the game seems significantly narrower. This limits your options as you play through the game and transforms something that ...
When Electronic Arts released Crytek's Crysis late last year, the game was praised for its excellent presentation (graphics and sound), interesting and engaging combat during the first half of the game and engaging storyline. On the flip side, it also ...
The aliens in this game are more challenging than they were in the original and, as a result, Warhead offers a far more fun and consistent gaming experience.
Warhead looks better, runs faster and offers a better gaming experience than its predecessor. It's definitely one of 2008's best PC game titles.
Interesting gameplay, Enjoyable lead character, Lots of drivable vehicles
Clichĩ gameplay
a parallel side story to the first game. Based on a very tweaked and optimized version of the CryEngine 2, it delivers the same stunning beauty from the first game without the absurdly high system requirements. It offers a pretty entertaining gaming ...
In preparation for the release of Crysis Warhead (and in celebration of its release on Steam) I took the chance to play through Crysis. This was a game that had incredible potential but ended up being known more for its hardware demands than its ...
A worthy expansion?
Fantastically exciting both on and offline, gorgeous looks, new multiplayer options add a lot
Still makes mincemeat out of your PC, can be a little too linear at times, short single-player campaign
It might not be as wide and open as Crysis, but Crysis: Warhead is still a tip-top shooter packed with both thrills and kills
All that talk of Crysis literally destroying sub-standard machines trying to run the fantastic shooter proved to be ever-so-slightly over the top. Crysis: Warhead is the first expansion, though oddly doesn?'t require you to own the first title to...
There are times when special powers would come in rather handy. Super speed to get you to the train station on time; invisibility to help you sneak to the front of the ticket queue; super strength to carry your bags. Nice. But even more so when you're ...
They've made a drama out of it. A worthwhile follow-up that's disappointingly brief, but great fun while it lasts.
A score will land you this unimpressive re-hashed shooter
Awesome graphics; A couple of new guns to play with; Online multiplayer support with 'Crysis Wars
Lacks some of the originality of the first game; Bogged down by numerous glitches; Rail shooter level? how old are we, nine
Worth a look although only if you're suffering from Crysis withdrawal. Otherwise just buy the original.
With a price tag of under ?0, it's safe to assume that Crysis: Warhead is not a full-blown successor to Nomad's first clash with aliens in the South Pacific. If you've already played the first game, then Warhead will be familiar territory. Despite...
Get a fresh perspective on the events of last year's sci-fi-tinged shooter
Crysis Warhead is a good action romp that, unlike its predecessor, doesn't require the world's most powerful PC to play well
Warhead's single-player campaign is also relatively short, although when you take into account the lower price and the inclusion of a completely separate Crysis-themed multiplayer game (Crysis Wars), the package starts to look a lot rosier Twelve...
A parallel story to the original release that serves up excellent gameplay
Overall: Short and linear, but if you already own the best 2007 titles and want more of the same, it's easily worth the asking price
