FEAR 2: Project Origin

By Dan Stapleton

It's been a while since we've seen a proper FEAR game. After Monolith's 2005 original, there were a couple of very mediocre expansions made by a different studio. When Monolith got the franchise back, we expected great things from its second outing; ...

Alma is genuinely creepy ; wall-crawling enemies frighten

There's nothing new to keep the shooting action interesting ; multiplayer is very forgettable

What is unique to the FEAR franchise is its main antagonist, Alma, the understandably upset ghost of a little girl exploited by an evil corporation that used her DNA to create psychically controlled clone soldiers. Alma's paranormal tantrum manifests ...

FEAR 2: Project Origin

By Max Slowik

Fear 2 is a game for people who aren't alright with a safe world. Even a despotic world. Those places can be made safe with skill and determination, and a gigantic supply of ammunition. Th...

FEAR 2: Project Origin - Xbox 360

Scary the second time round?

The combination of hectic blasting, intelligent enemies, and terrifying scares is once again a real hit for the FEAR series. It's to the game's ultimate benefit that every mechanic it offers is of a high enough standard to culminate in a quite ...

F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin (Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment)

Offers a solid action FPS experience ; slo-mo gimmick is pretty awesome

A.I. opponents can be a little dense ; level designs could be better ; story ends on a flat note

F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin Review - Gaming Reviews

By Stuart Andrews

For a while F.E.A.R. sat at the top of the action tree, but can its sequel compete with the latest generation of blockbusters?

Platforms: Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC - PlayStation 3 version reviewed I really, really want to love F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin. Project Origin does all this stuff, and arguably it does it better than the original game. Maybe it's not Project...

FEAR 2: Project Origin game

By Jonathan Parkyn

A second dose of the successful psychic shooter

Fear 2 lives up to its name

First-person shooter (FPS) games are ten a penny, but the original Fear stood out from the crowd, largely because it took Eastern cinema as its main influence. Four years and several imitators later and Fear's long-awaited sequel isn't looking...

F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin

By Kevin VanOrd

f.e.a.r. 2: project origin review: This somewhat scary sequel is a solid shooter, but it can't keep pace with its lauded predecessor.

Slow-motion shoot-outs are good, gory fun, Mech sequences provide welcome variety, Some cool, spooky imagery, Story offers little mystery or suspense, Cliched random scares and level design, Multiplayer is drab and disappointing

Story offers little mystery or suspense, Cliched random scares and level design, Multiplayer is drab and disappointing

Of course, that game gave its ghostly visions a chilling context, drawing you into the unnerving story of a paranormal prodigy named Alma and the horrific suffering to which she was subjected. F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin returns to this fertile......

Be afraid, be very afraid

By Jason Ocampo

IF F.E.A.R. 2 teaches players anything, do not ever think that the little girl you encounter in an abandoned building is harmless.

To its credit, F.E.A.R. 2 is genuinely creepy at times. For instance, the first time Alma suddenly appeared in front of me in F.E.A.R. made me jump, but now it's almost expected.

F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin Review

By Eric Blattberg

A great American president once said, "The only thing we have to fear is fear itself." Now let's amend FDR's famous quote for the 21st century. "The only thing we have to fear is F.E.A.R. itself." Monolith Productions' F.E.A.R., or First Encounter ...

The combination of horror and action ; The advanced enemy AI ; The surprisingly strong online multiplayer

F.E.A.R. 2's unyielding linearity ; The utilization of outdated mechanics ; The difficulty entering a multiplayer match

F.E.A.R. 2 is a somewhat scary blend of action and horror, and although it relies too heavily on old ideas, it still offers an enjoyable experience.

FEAR 2: Project Origin

By Travis Moses

It's no surprise that FEAR 2: Project Origin plays well. The graphics are just as good as the first game, complete with slow-motion bullet ripples, sizzling particle effects, and plenty of blood splattering. Needless to say, Project Origin is the ...
