US giants Shopzilla and BizRate first to launch the alaTest service.

Shopzilla.com and alaTest.com today announced a partnership bringing shoppers in the US a whole new source of information – expert reviews. SZ will incorporate expert product ratings, supplied by alaTest, to their products enabling customers to fully understand the quality of what they are about to purchase.

As the modern online consumers are increasingly more interested in reviews and ratings before they actually buy something “we are extremely content with the way this partnership has turned out” said CEO Ken Lowe at Shopzilla. “We have been looking for a possibility to collect and present this type of information on our site. But it’s not until now we feel we have found a partner that can deliver. We strongly believe this will improve our visitors’ conversion rate and affect our bottom line directly”.

Shopzilla ranked no 29 among the world’s more than 100 million websites (quantcast.com) has had a big impact on the US online shopping market since its introduction in 2004. Available in Germany (.de), France (.fr), United Kingdom (.co.uk) and the USA (.com) Shopzilla is the largest comparison shopping search engine on the web today.

BizRate to follow
BizRate, another E.W Scripps web company, also focusing on price and product comparison for online shoppers and ranked no 16 by quantcast.com will follow in Shopzilla’s footsteps. A spokesperson for BizRate says they will be fully implemented before the summer.

Both companies are thereby part of the introduction of alaTest’s highly unique and flexible concept to the US market. alaTest has already established itself as the only B2B expert review supplier in Europe. “We’ve had great success because our business model is so simple and because our content can be implemented and used in so many ways. Some companies even use us as a type of market watch, keeping track of trends and what’s hot in their respective markets”, said Arie Struik, company CEO and founder.
