Have owned several Olympus digital recorders, & liked most. Bought this because the voice activation on the WS-311M was unreliable; found the DS-30 recording quality on a class by itself. Easy to manage data from any USB port w/o special software.

Phenomenal sound quality, excellent battery life, strong feature set

can accidentally switch from dictation to conference mode

not as practical as I wish it would be due to lack of mp3 support (for recording). very portable and easy to operate, especially because it connects directly to any computer (mac or pc) and appears as an external drive.

many controls, compact, light, durable.

not recording in mp3 or wav.
