The Optoma HD70 represents a breakthrough in the pricing of home projectors; it's an HD-ready, 720p DPL projector for under £700. If you were thinking of getting a home theatre set-up, and thought 480p was all your budget could afford, think again

Good build inside and out, Well-endowed power supply, Decent ergonomics, Good value, Decent image quality, Easy to operate, HD-ready (HDMI port)

Lacks bi-ampable front speakers, Can't transcode from analogue to HDMI digital video, No DVI port, No carry bag

The Optoma is a good all-round performer: it's enjoyable to use and the price is great

This is helped by the battery of image-enhancing technologies Optoma has thro...

Good Value

By N/A (newegg.com)

you may have to darken the room for day time viewing and if possible keep the lighting indirect with respect to the display area

this item has good contrast and brightness for the money it also has a good throw distance

the projector has an inconvenient lens angle no matter how I mount it.

Amazing HD for the money

Good brightness, good contrast, amazing quality for a projector in this price range. I mostly play XBOX 360 on it, and it looks incredible. I do have to correct an error in a comment by KB: this projector DOES have HDMI. Just look at the picture of the ba...

No DVI, but not really a big deal. You can get DVI->HDMI converters for cheap (it's the same signal).
