Garmin Vivosmart HR

The Garmin Vivosmart HR is a solid option if you're looking for a waterproof fitness tracker with a built-in heart rate monitor.

Accurate, continuous heart rate monitoring. Comfortable, waterproof design. Crisp display. Delivers smartphone notifications.

Overly complex app and settings menus. No notification interaction. Exaggerated mileage in testing.

Conclusions The Garmin Vivosmart HR is a solid choice if you're looking for a waterproof fitness tracker with a heart rate monitor. That said, the Fitbit Charge HR offers more accurate distance readings, and has a much better companion app. Get the...

Garmin vívosmart HR review

I'm picky when it comes to fitness trackers. I want a device that can stay on my wrist for extended periods of time, and that doesn't have to be charged every few days. One that doesn't need to be removed each time I take a shower or go for a swim. I...

All-day heart rate and fitness tracking. Always-on touchscreen. Can get smartphone notifications. Shower and swim-friendly.

Bulky design. Its Garmin Connect mobile app isn't as refined as apps from Fitbit or Jawbone. No smart coaching or personalized feedback.

The Garmin Vivosmart HR does fitness and heart rate tracking just about as well as the Fitbit Charge HR while adding smartphone alerts, too, all in a compact package.

Garmin Vivosmart HR Review

The Garmin Vivosmart HR is one of the best heart rate monitors in our review because of its long list of helpful features, easy-to-read and use touchscreen, and versatile design. The only downsides to this watch its battery life and slightly less...

This tracker is waterproof up to 50 meters, so you can take it swimming or in the shower.

The Garmin Vivosmart HR’s battery only lasts for five days before needing to recharge.

The Garmin Vivosmart HR is a well-designed heart rate monitor watch that continuously tracks your heart rate and other fitness metrics both on the device in the helpful app.

Garmin Vivosmart HR review: acute fitness tracking for a price

Andy works up a sweat with the Garmin Vivosmart HR on his arm.

: It’s not attractive, but it’s possibly the best “HR” fitness tracker in the market right now. It’s also expensive, but you get a lot of health tracking tech… and, not much else. Honestly, if you aren’t a fitness nut, and are looking for something a...

Garmin vivosmart HR Review

The Fitbit Charge HR has long been our top pick as the best overall fitness tracker, as it offers a robust app, with diet tracking, long battery life and an unobtrusive design. However, the similarly priced Garmin vivosmart HR has a larger display,...

Large display ; Accurate step-tracking and heart-rate monitoring ; New daily goals feature ; Easy setup ; Waterproof design

Screen overly sensitive ; Shorter battery life than competition ; No built-in diet tracking

Boasting a large display, accurate activity, sleep and heart rate tracking, and smartphone notifications, the Garmin vivosmart HR is the fitness tracker to beat.

Garmin’s Vivosmart HR reviewed: Don’t buy a Fitbit before considering this band

The $150 all-purpose tracker may not have Fitbit's modern exterior, but its internals are solid.

Smartphone notifications are discrete and comprehensive, letting you scroll to see full messages. ; The heart rate monitor is accurate and adjusts very quickly to give you a real-time reading. ; The display is simple but easy to view and read even in...

Syncing issues with old software—make sure to download Garmin Express and check if your device needs an update before using. ; Its design isn't as minimalistic or modern as a Fitbit. ; Garmin Connect is confusing to navigate if you're looking for...

Fitbit should take notice of Garmin's Vivosmart HR. The company managed to pack many features, including robust smartphone notifications, water-resistance, and intense customization, into the new $150 device. While public perception may not pit the...
