Works well but is noisy

 

The last Sharp that I had was very quiet, cooled very well and was reasonably priced and so I bought this one hoping for the same. I guess that 2 out of 3 ain't bad.

Unit works very well and puts out a lot of cold air. Louvers can be aimed up to blow the air acorss the romm

Very, very noisy, even on low speed. The compressor is fairly quiet. It is the blower that makes all the racket

Great Unit

 

It does what it's suppose to do but it's too loud for a bedroom. But overall it's great for the daytime.

Loud

 

yeah, for it's price, i won't complain..

Cold.. does the job, actually cover more area than i expected. can handle my apartment (1000 sqft) w/ no problem

Loud. Put it in a bed room and good luck sleeping.. better turn it on like an hr before bed time so it sets goes off due to temp control

Unreasonably Loud

 

I am going to stick this one in the closet and buy another AC unit.

Does cool the room

Very, very loud. I can't believe Sharp would manufacture an air conditioner that is so loud you can't watch TV or talk on phone

Quite noisy but moves a lot of air

 

I only got it because my old 5000 btu ac wasnt doing any effective air moving. But i guess you pay a price for having a large living room.

Moves air very well. In five minutes it can effectively cool a room within its stated dimensions. It is energy star compliant but the amount of power this thing needs probably counteracts the effeciency

Man is it loud. I took two eggs off just because of the noise. The noise can only be attributed to the power of this thing. 8000 btus is a lot of power

Incredibily Noisy - Stay Away!

 

Don't buy this

Produces cool air

It is unbelievably loud. You cannot make conversation, watch TV, etc. when this is on. The noise level makes this AC completely useless for residential use. And they won't let you return it

Noisy as hell!

 

This is the most noisy AC unit you can buy - period. It sounds like a Jumbo jet taking off! It is impossible to be in the room where this unit is working - even at the lowest setting.
