5 years and still going

For service take the housing off and clean the slime off of the radiator, water tray, pump and remove the plastic tray above the radiator and unclog the drip holes. I like doing this at the best at the beginning of cooling season because everything is...

5 years and still working, it is used all year, summer for AC winter for heat

You need to service at the beginning of every cooling season and once in the middle if you are not going to hook it up to a drain. Oh and one year the float got stuck or something and flooded the floor. Most of the time when the evaporative system does...

Loud, Poor craftsmanship

It seems like my unit was banged around by UPS while in transit. I had a local UPS store accept the deliver and the box didn't look too damaged. However it was clear from the plastic housing that something wasn't aligned properly. It runs extremely...

It will cool down a room quickly.

cumbersome set up; must use window vents and slotted fitting which cannot be cut easily. EXTREMELY LOUD!

Requires Yearly Maintenance

If buying a portable you need to go bigger then the recommended BTU. They should put out two scales one for window one for portable.

Cools and heats my attic/loft room ok. In summer I can still be a little too warm and in winter I am still a little too cold. Is still working after 3+ years without issue. Has a cool auto feature that could be useful in vacation homes or workshops....

Cannot compete with window units of the same BTU. Loud and you will notice when it kicks on and off. Must do maintenance evaporative system. Mine leaked at the end of the first year, couldn't figure out why so we just put in in a washer pan and pumped...

Srsly? 400 and no removable tank?

I was debating whether or not I should've gotten another regular ac or try something new and boy do I regret my decision for I am stuck with this junk that leaks everywhere. For 400$ I could've easily bought 4 regular air condition for 4 different...

Heater and AC all in one Quickly cools And very powerful Energy efficient

Leaks water everywhere like the past reviewers have mentioned No portable/removable tank Instruction manual is terrible

OK but could be much better

* The only leaks (2 leaks) I have had was when the washer wore down from the nut. Other than that, I have been lucky with no water leaks. * Had to open the unit after the water tank filled for the first time. After draining the tank, the water...

Off the bat, the AC worked without any problems. It did a rather good job cooling down a bedroom. So far 3 years with it and it still works, but there are problems which are beginning to build up which can be read in the cons.

* Washer inside the nut for water tank sieve has gone bad after 3 years which caused a leak. * Clear PVC tube isn't long enough to make it worthwhile, though it has saved me after the nut's washer deteriorated. * Cooling has been noticeably declining...

No replacement parts available

When this was working, it was a great unit which I used for heating in the winter and cooling/dehumidifying in the summer.

After a little less than 2 years, the internal fan blades broke. I called to order a replacement part as it was now out of warranty and was told that they do not sell parts. So now I have a very expensive paper weight. The rep told me that if it was...
