Good Unit, bad packaging

 

The water tray is shallow and doesn't hold very much, and the auto evaporation process can't always keep up. Fortunately, the unit automatically shuts off when the tray is full, so it won't overflow. Be aware, if the unit isn't sitting level it could...

Quiet for a portable unit, but still louder than a window unit. This shouldn't be a surprise, as every noise-making component is completely inside the room ; Cools and dehumidifies well

Poorly packaged. Minor damage, probably caused during shipping. One of the hose adapters was cracked, so I had to apply a little duct tape to hold it together. A replacement is available from Haier for less than 5 dollars

Cools well but kind of noisy

 

I don't think that I would buy this again, from the info that i've read all Haier's are made in China and I have a window unit of another brand name 'made in the U.S.A. in my living room that is more cooling BTU's and its quiet compaired to this Haier...

Does a very good job keeping an average sized bedroom cool in the low 70's even on very hot days. This is my 2nd summer with the unit, exhaust duct is well made and plate that fits in the window is good quality, caster wheels roll well

Only real con is that its pretty noisy, in a bedroom you will hear the compressor kick on and off and fan noise is only quiet on the low setting, med and high are pretty loud so I keep the fan on low at night
