Aiwa XR-X7

Slick design The XR-X7's sleek, minimalist design mixes faux brushed steel, clear plastic, and implied heat sinks in a stylishly squat base unit that has the potential to slip into any decor. A recessed, backlit, color LCD panel sits behind a partially...

Attractive styling; Q Sound circuitry adds a pleasurable, surroundlike dimension to music; digital optical output.

Speakers sound a bit limp.

The XR-X7 is a no-frills shelf system that satisfies simple tastes; keep your expectations low, and you'll be pleasantly surprised.

"Solid system, much better with Sub"

The sound quality is good, the quality of the actual equipment is very good. And with the subwoofer I use with it, its Great!

Needs the subwoofer for full sound.

"Great Little System for the price"

Just bought this for $130 from Frys to replace my father's old Sony system. It look good but sound excellent for the size and price. I'm not sure what the fan in the rear is cooling, but it is rather intrusive.

"An excellent micro system for the clarity listener."

The Aiwa XR-X7 provides a lot of bang for the buck. This system is not a "Kathump-"kathump" system but a system designed for detailed listening, which it produces quite well. The bass is accurate and not "boomy", a quality rarely found in smaller systems.

"Great looks, easy to use, digital optical output, great remote control"

I have had the system for over a year and I'm happy with it. I recommend it for casual user who can appreciate its esthetical value. The unit needs a free space on the top for CD access, but you want to have it free standing anyway toget the most of...

Great "bang-for-the-buck" for an executive micro system

Great "bang-for-the-buck" for an executive micro system

I am very impressed with the sound of the XR-X7. This unit offers contemporary styling, several features and crystal clear sound usually found on much more expensive systems. I would say if you are looking for a "kathump-kathump" sound then the...

It would have been higher, but the remote [is bad]

It would have been higher, but the remote [is bad]

My JVC finally [quit] on me and I thought I would try a new flavor. The Aiwa is pretty sharp looking, has lots of features and sounds excellent. I use it in my bedroom, and the sound more than fills the room. However, it comes with possibly the worst...

Product Specifications

Aiwa introduces its XR-X7, a design-oriented CD component system that offers a wide range of advanced functions. The XR-X7 has a transparent acrylic top-opening CD lid and a curvaceous soft design. The main unit's stand makes it look like it's floating, giving a "light-footed" impression. Users can change the colors of the large, 12-color LCD display to suit their taste. As a final eye-pleasing touch, the entire system comes in a silver finish. But there's brawn with the beauty: the XR-X7 also offers high-quality sounds and easy operation. Its functions include a high-quality amplifier with 40W of powerful output, virtual QSURROUND that provides stereophonic acoustic effects, CD-R/RW playback and a CD optical digital output terminal that allows connection with a MD unit to further enhance the system.
