ARCAM Solo Mini

Arcam's Solo Mini music system follows the tide of other hi-fi companies entering the digital age by embracing USB and iPod connectivity. To the Solo ...

Quality internal amplification, fast and quiet CD player

Expensive

For an all-in-one music, radio and digital audio receiver, the Solo Mini functions admirably. In all modes it is easy to navigate and control music, and sound quality is fantastic whatever the volume level.

Arcam Solo Mini review

Flushed, no doubt, by the success of the original ‘Solo', Arcam has now progressed to a three-band, half-width, receiver with built-in CD player – and that's usually the territory of Aiwa, Matsui and other faceless brands that no one has ever heard of.

Outrageously good sound from both the source comonents and the amlifier ; An imlausibly small and nicely turned-out box, which is friendly to use

Doesn’t turn into a beef sandwich at midnight ; Joking aart, at this rice, we’d be churlish to criticise, so no significant comlaints

Arcam Solo Mini review

If a better combination of value for money and performance exists, we've never seen it. Arcam has crafted a truly admirable all-in-one system, bursting with features and oozing true hi-fi qualities

Price ; Terrific performance ; As good as most separates for the same price ; Compact design

If there's something not to like, we can't find it

If you thought it was explicitly essential to use separates for creating a hi-fi experience, give the Solo Mini a spin before voicing those opinions to people who know better. It'll save you the embarrassment of standing corrected

Arcam Solo Mini

If you want high quality sound with a touch of iPod convenience, Arcam's Solo Mini is a great choice.

The Solo Mini may look expensive on paper, but the features on offer and the quality it demonstrates are, in fact, well beyond its humble price tag. £770 for such a high-quality amp, CD player and one of the best iPod dock systems around is an absolute...

The Mini version of Arcam's Solo all-in-one is half the size, half as powerful and half the price. Let's hope it's not half as good

Classier than the micro system mob, and well worth the Arcam premium

Separates might outgun the Solo Mini sonically, but it's still great considering the convenience and style factors

Very smart looks; small size; accomplished performance

Not the very last word in detail and insight

An expensive but high quality sound system

SUPRERIOR build and great sound quality make Arcam'¿s Solo Mini is a great all-in-one CD and radio playback unit when teamed up with some efficient, high quality speakers.

Quality internal amplification, fast and quiet CD player

Expensive

For an all-in-one music, radio and digital audio receiver, the Solo Mini functions admirably. In all modes it is easy to navigate and control music, and sound quality is fantastic whatever the volume level.

"That sounds great," I said, as soon as the music started

My expectations for the Solo Mini weren't high. Experience has taught me not to expect that much from a small, single box trying to do everything. Sure, a mini-system like the Denon DM33 can offer a surprising performance compared to many other minis....

Arcam Solo Mini

If you connect the rDock to the main unit you cant use the mini remote for the rDock - bad news if all you want on display is the rDock. if you disconnect the rDock control cable then the main unit cant recognise it as an ipod unit.

Sound

Integration with rDock is very primitive

Audiophile performance in a compact box

Worth the extra cash over the Teac and Onkyo all in one systems that sound thin when compared to the Mini.

Looks ; Size ; Sound ; Ease of operation

Lower power output than bigger standard Solo ; Not available in black
