Bose Acoustic Wave Music System II

I promised to bring you at least one portable speaker review a week, and after having covered all the compact pocket-sized devices and some mid-level performers, I now have for you an old heavy-duty entrant — Bose Acoustic Wave System II.

However, listening to an acoustic live performance CD of Shakti was a nice experience. I felt the mids were a bit roomier and the fine clunk in the highs were very well reproduced.

Bose Acoustic Wave music system II (platinum white)

Design The Bose Acoustic Wave Music System II may be particularly attractive to those who dislike electronics in the living room, simply because it doesn't look like a piece of audio equipment at all. While the front panel of most tabletop radios is...

Doesn't look like a radio; convenient handles for transporting the system from room to room; easy to use; decent sound quality on light classical and acoustic music; lots of add-on options; achieves high volume without sound breaking up.

LCD display on top (you can't see it from across the room); no XM support; no HD radio support; very expensive; performance doesn't live up to the price; only 6 AM and 6 FM presets; no alarm or clock; no bass or treble controls.

Although some people will love its design and simplicity, the Bose Acoustic Wave Music System II doesn't offer the sound quality or features of its competitors--and it's way more expensive.

Bose Wave Music System

The sound from the second-generation Bose Wave Music System CD-playing clock radio is much improved and plays half an octave lower. But there are no controls on the graphite-gray or platinum-white case; instead, you use a 26-button, credit cardsize...

Bose Wave Music System III Preview

Back in 1993, the first generation Bose Wave Radio was introduced. Smaller than their Acoustic Wave system, it employed two 2-1/2" full range drivers. The left-hand speaker was responsible for the bass via their 26" tapered waveguide which twisted...

Wave Music System Review

Audiophiles, rejoice! Bose, the company that brought us the Bose Wave Radio, produced three new systems featuring the same technology. Mike Mackenzie reviews the Wave Music System. Does it deserve the same "sonic marvel" description as the Wave...

"If you play loud & want superb sound, then don't buy."

My theory is that people who like quality loudness are the ones who provided the negative reviews. For low to med volume levels this table top is excellent. That is, pleasant highs with a warm bass.

Sounds great at medium and low volume.

High frequencies emphasized at high volume.

"Sound is great, poor on design & functionnality"

I haven't bought the system. The sound is great but as someone pointed out, it looks like an air purifier. I was disppointed to see at the boutique that the system lacked the design and refinement that I would expect for such a high price. The bose...

Great sound!

Pricy for a system that is very minimalist in terms of design and functionnality.

Best System ever Created.

Hopefully, they won't start making them in China..

The best Sound of it's Kind, not even the best Boomboxes of the Past can come close to it... Believe me, I had plenty of them

a bit heavy to carry, But those are the Balls the Radio comes with
