The Streamium NP2900 is an excellent Wi-Fi radio. It's an extremely slick-looking piece of kit, it offers access to thousands of Internet radio stations and, most importantly, it delivers fantastic sound quality. Unusually, it also offers a great ...
Excellent sound quality for its size ; unique colour screen that displays album art ; provides access to thousands of Internet radio stations ; stylish exterior design ; easy set-up to stream music from connected PCs
Interface can become sluggish with large music libraries ; slight delay between tracks ; included remote is occasionally confusing
The Philips Streamium NP2900 is a great-sounding Wi-Fi radio with a unique colour display, but it doesn't offer enough features to justify its price premium over competitors

A traditional all-in-one system with a CD player, radio receiver and iPod dock, the CS-325UK offers impressive sound quality and is straightforward to set up and use. Its design isn't eye-catching, but this is a good-quality system that represents ...
Impressive sound quality ; easy to use ; simple to set up
No video output on dock
The Onkyo CS-325UK is a good-quality, all-in-one hi-fi system that produces great-sounding audio and is straightforward to use. It's a sensible buy for those seeking a mini hi-fi to use with their iPod

Sony's Giga Juke NAS-SC55 is a multi-room wireless music system comprising two products: the main NAS-S55HDE hi-fi and the smaller NAS-C5E wireless speaker system. We have some complaints about the speakers, but the main system is dead simple -- and ...
Ease of use ; good value when bought as a package ; great screen ; acceptable sound quality
Bundled speakers ; lacklustre music format support ; sluggish CD ripping speed
Sony's Giga Juke NAS-SC55 is a multi-room wireless music system comprising two products: the main NAS-S55HDE hi-fi and the smaller NAS-C5E wireless speaker system. For the price, the package offers a solid balance of features, usability and value, ...

A weighty and beautifully built audio streamer based on the Squeezebox Duet, the Boom has the bonus of built-in speakers but the same feature-packed innards. Connect it your network with Wi-Fi or Ethernet and it's amazingly easy to stream your music - ...
Vast codec support ; terrific PC software ; simple operation ; Last.fm integration ; podcast support
No support for DRMed WMA files ; headphone socket unusally positioned
Simply put, this is the finest networked audio streamer we've ever seen. It's easy to use, beautifully designed and packed with features to an almost ludicrous extent

The Arcam Solo Mini is proof that bigger is not necessarily better, and neither are separates when it comes to creating an excellent hi-fi system. With remarkably good quality for such a small system, it plays CDs, connects to your iPod with an extra ...
Price ; terrific performance ; as good as most separates for the same price ; compact design
If there's something not to like, we can't find it
If a better combination of value for money and performance exists, we've never seen it. Arcam has crafted a truly admirable all-in-one system, bursting with features and oozing true hi-fi qualities

If you're in the market for a straightforward system that streams your PC's music around your home, the Philips Streamium WACS7500 is certainly worth a closer look. It's comprised of a central jukebox with speakers and a hard drive, and a smaller ...
Easy to use and set up ; decent Wi-Fi functionality ; improved display ; simple navigation ; built-in CD database
A little expensive ; small hard drive ; very slow performance ; occasional network issues ; lack of codec support
A system with great potential but severely let down by poor codec support and extremely slow CD ripping and network performance. That said, it's unique in its abilities as a complete package and if you want a one-stop networked audio solution for ...

If you still want a piece of the wireless streaming audio action despite your modest budget, the Philips WAC3500D may be right up your alley. With its modern looks, 80GB hard drive and ease of use, you'll be ripping your entire CD collection or ...
Price ; decent sound quality ; easy to use ; good software included ; works with Wi-Fi or Ethernet
Hard disk could be bigger ; limited codec support ; no lossless CD ripping option
On the whole, an excellent choice of micro hi-fi. With decent sound and performance, streaming media a bonus and an internal hard disk, it's a sure winner. If your budget is limited, you should find this an acceptable choice

Valve amp for iPods
Excellent sound quality ; glowing tube looks great
Expensive ; rough finish
Four hundred notes is a lot to pay for an iPod amp, especially as no speakers are included. Still, the Roth Music Cocoon MC4 does add wonderful warmth to tunes from your music player, but it's a shame the finish is rather rough and the buttons on the ...

Price ; speaker design ; reasonably attractive
Muddy sound quality ; lacklustre bass ; poor display
An affordable micro CD system with a useful built-in iPod dock, but severely lacking quality of construction and audio performance. This is certainly suitable for teens on a budget looking for an attractive bedroom setup, but anyone else should ...

A Wi-Fi jukebox and speaker setup with an 80GB hard drive, Philips WACS7000 is worth considering if you want to wirelessly stream tunes around your house but don't want to include a PC in your music system
Easy setup ; simple menus ; long-range Wi-Fi ; sound on main unit is good
Painfully slow CD ripping ; speakers on streaming unit are poor ; can't stream networked media to other slave units ; slow menus
The follow up to the WACS700, the WACS7000 is a decent product for technophobes who want to get into digital music without getting their hands dirty with PCs. The sound from the main unit is good and it's easy to use, but there are too many little ...
