Onkyo CR-N755 - Pocket-lint

For most people the hi-fi is dead. The days of needing two large speakers and a central unit to play music died when we switched to MP3s and AAC audio

Sounds great, plenty of power, Spotify built-in, DLNA works brilliantly, plays futuristic spinning silver discs

No Wi-Fi built in, restrictive display makes things harder to do than they need be

In some ways, the Onkyo is a bit old school. It's like a micro hi-fi from years gone by where most people still used CDs as their main method of listening to music. But, in fact, it's actually a super-modern take on the whole thing.

Micro hi-fi might seem a bit old-school, but the performance from Onkyo's smart CR-N755 combines traditional sonic clout with modern streaming know-how

Seriously good sound quality coupled with the latest streaming technology makes this Onkyo an all-round winner

Onkyo CR-N755

A multi-talented music system with stunning sound quality.

Refined yet exciting sound quality ; Versatile functionality ; Classy looks and solid build quality

No DAB radio ; Difficult to search for music ; Wi-Fi optional

Overall we’re highly impressed by what the CR-N755 has to offer. The generous functionality reads like a hi-fi glossary – AUPEO!, CD, DLNA, FM/AM radio,, Spotify, USB, with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth as optional extras.

Best networked micro system, Awards 2012. This little box is a fine, forward-thinking hi-fi system

Bags of functionality ; integrated Spotify ; internet, FM and AM radio ; sounds great

Speakers are an optional extra

REVIEW: Onkyo CR-N755 networked Hi-Fi receiver

Moving swiftly with the times, Onkyo's CR-N755 Hi-Fi receiver offers a full suite of online audio sources to enjoy. Read on to find out exactly why this forward-thinking receiver should be on your wishlist.

The CR-N755 is the modern Hi-Fi receiver done right. Oozing with features and countless audio source options, it's let down only by its lack of a built-in wireless connection. It's only a slight hiccup though in an otherwise comprehensive package, a...

A dab radio would be a good addition

Onkyo CR-N755

The DAC is high-end and the amplifier design is excellent. It's amazing how free of distortion the sound reproduction is: I've not heard a purity of sound like that before

Only 22W per channel output. This does limit the speakers you can pair with it as most quality speakers these days need more

Onkyo CR-N755

The power and clarity is amazing after listening through cheap speakers and low powered devices like TV's

Android remote app - not the best ; Actual remote ok bit small on the buttons
