The Pioneer X-HM70 offers functionality unheard-of in micros

Ample functionality ; tidy build and finish ; composed, (mostly) well-controlled sound

Bass is a bit all-or-nothing, treble can bite ; controls an iPod in its own good time

Communicative and detailed Low frequencies are relatively straight-edged and positive, with just about sufficient weight (unless you put the speakers close to a wall or, heaven forefend, deploy the P.BASS setting, when they become altogether overstated...
