Great, with one catch

This unit looks and sounds great and wasn't too hard to set up. Beware though, the instructions say that you need a bluetooth adapter, just in case this is a feature you find important. Fortunately, it wasn't for me.

Range of features ; Rich, detailed sound ; Handy LCD screen

Uninspiring design ; Optional Bluetooth ; Not that refined

It may lack the modern-day panache of other docks on the market, but the Pioneer X-SMC3 still has what it takes to make it into our list of the best ipod and mp3 docks with a stellar feature list and sparkling sound quality.

Perfect feature set! Just a little rough software

Could Be Better

Brilliant idea, can hook-up pretty much everything but is somewhat slow and hangs at least once a day. I found sound to be average. Internet radio is nice but not all stations are in the list. Addition of a new station is ultimately at vTuner's...
