Roberts WM201 review

This Roberts radio is actually a streaming audio receiver that can play files stored on your PC wherever you are in the house.

Maybe video didn't kill the radio star. A capable wireless audio streamer in a cabinet that's built to last.

Roberts WM201

The front of a car, an air-conditioning unit, one of those heaters your gran has by her feet… the Roberts WM201 certainly makes a statement. It's just unfortunate that statement is “I have no aesthetic sense whatsoever”. Luckily we're not so shallow to...

Powerful sound. One-knob control

Unimaginative car grille styling

The Roberts WM201 makes us go all radio ga ga and radio goo. Whatever that means.

Roberts WM201

Hi-fi quality internet radio and audio streamer, with two 5W speakers and a basic 3-line display.

You might expect a wireless from crusty old company Roberts to sport a hissy AM crystal that picks up nothing but The Archers and Yesterday in Parliament. In fact, the WM201 is a thoroughly modern internet radio, receiving BBC Listen Again and live...

Like most internet radios, the WM201 works with only 802.11b and g networks, rather the latest n standard signals. You can plug it direct to the router with an Ethernet cable, though. There’s no buffer for pause or rewind, nor memory card or USB slots

Apparently her Maj owns a Roberts or two, and nothing gives us greater pleasure than imagining her and Phil crunking to some phat LA beats at two in the afternoon.

EXCELLENT PRODUCT, FANTASTIC SERVICE

EXCELLENT PRODUCT, FANTASTIC SERVICE

I guess that when any of us are looking to spend a significant amout of money on a product, especially when buying on-line, it is reassuring to be able to see the views of others, and by that I mean not just "expert" reviews (which are of course...

Brilliant but Faulty

Fed up with listening to the Radio via the PC - Long boot up times, indifferent speakers - I bought the WM-201 and was overwhelmed. Fantastic sound, easy set up, more choice than I could ever use, it works with a good range over WiFi and logs into the...

Great sound but egriously bad interface and poor reliability

I bought this radio about 18 months ago and I still use it daily, but, as good as it looks on our kitchen shelf, my main emotional response is one of frustration. The first thing to say is that, when it's working, the sound is great. Just what you...

Classical Music lovers,I if you have had enough of Radio 3....

As a total novice I found this radio very easy to set up and the sound through my hi fi is in virtually every case superior to DAB So if love classical music and like me you find much of Radio 3 in the late evening unattractive, here is the answer. I...

APPALLING NAVIGATION, TERRIBLE MENUS

APPALLING NAVIGATION, TERRIBLE MENUS

the menus and scroll button are appalling. Only something purporting to be British can be this clumsy. Figuring your way through the menus - and god forbid - wanting to change something - is nigh on impossible for me - just imagine how awkward it is...
