The receiver is a separate component and has a multitude of different inputs and outputs. For high-quality video, there are two HDMI inputs (presumably, one is for the DVD player) and three component inputs. You can connect digital audio via one...

The HT-7000DH's most intriguing aspect is that it's XM Satellite ready. It comes with everything you need to start listening to a whole host of radio stations. Well, maybe not everything-you'll still need that pesky subscription.

Sony HT-7000DH Home Theater System Conclusion

Mid-bass frequencies were skimpy and did not bring out the full sound effects when watching DVDs and listening to CDs. High frequencies were equally lackluster and were not as smooth-sounding as other competing models.

Plenty of power; easy setup and installation; DVDs can upscale to 720p or 1080i resolution

Uninspiring sound quality; drab appearance

The DVD/CD changer does a very good job of playing DVDs in both their native 480p format and in the 720p/1080i upscaled format. With a suitable 720p/1080i display, the resulting picture quality will rival that of true HD source content. While you would...

Pretty Good for the Pirce

Pretty Good for the Pirce

Once I got through the confusing setup I have been pleasantly suprised by the sound and functionality of this system. Auto calibration is a snap but a bit tricky to setup manual calibration per speaker. Good value though for the price

Soft Popping Noise Fixed / Test Your Receiver

I also had sound problems. The sound I was experiencing was a soft rhythmatic popping noise thru the speakers while on mute. I could also hear the same soft rhythmatic popping noise on soft music and quiet TV scenes. The sound was like the consistent...

It's that darn clicking noise. Every 10 seconds. It would be great except for that problem. However I am encouraged by the reviewer who said his went away without doing anything. If you are listening to quiet music it will drive you nuts!

Nice Little Budget System

Nice Little Budget System

This is a decent starter system for someone who has never had surround sound before. The sound is quite good & the speakers have plenty of power, especially the powered sub (which has an independent volume control, which is key). Part of the reason we...

Nice system, best around here for the money

I just purchased this item yesterday, it's a nice system with powerful sound. This unit replaced my five year old Sony DAV-C450 so it was a nice upgrade with almost twice the wattage. The subwoofer on this system creates deep, rich, rumble and the...

I too experienced the dreaded clicking noise in all the speakers. I thought it was a connection issue with the speaker cables so I hooked up another receiver to the speakers and the clicking noise went away. So the problem is definitely with the...

Pleased with system, despite questionable reviews

Pleased with system, despite questionable reviews

Bought one at Circuit City in Feb 2007. It is up and running fine. This is NOT a system for people who need everything color-coded, are in a hurry, and/or don't like to read manuals, or have never set up a component hi fi system. I almost didn't buy it...
