Sony NSZ-GS7 Internet Player with Google TV

Excellent bit of kit, the set up is very straight forward. The remote is stylish, inventive and works very well. An easy way to turn your TV into a smart tv. I would recommend.

Top piece of kit

This little bit of kit is an amazing piece of tech & the only reason that I have not give it a 5 star is that it needs to have more apps that are built more around the TV like XBMC and things like BBC iPlayer, itvPlayer, 4od Player, 5 demand Player,...

Two steps back. from the SNP-100 media player.

I really wanted this to work - I own a Sony SNP-100 network player that has very limited app functionality, and no internet ability, and hoped that the Sony Google box would provide the missing elements, and also keep the networking ability of the...

A great idea that needs time to evolve

Setting up the Sony NSZ-GS7 was relatively quick and simple and I had it connected to my wireless network in no time! Although I did hit upon one unfortunate issue: My particular TV is not accounted for in the internal remote code database so the nifty...

Sadly Disappointed

I was really excited when I read about this product and bought one almost straight away. I wanted it most for watching demand5, 4od, iplayer and itv player. My problems started when I first set it up. The screen where you pair the box with the remote...

Good to a point.

Well, this could have been exciting. Not having Wifi I still ordered this for the promise of being able to use a USB disc to play media files. The problem is that the box requires a user to connect to the internet up front before being able to do that,...

Not a gap in the marketplace

As far as I am concerned there is not really a gap in the market for this device. At least not at this price point... If you're after a device that will stream such things as iPlayer or 4OD then this will work however not that well, at the time of...

A good idea

Sony's new Google TV unit is a good idea which combines several different devices in one. The first thing you'll notice is the unique remote which has a mouse style track pad on one side, which works just like a Smartphone touchscreen, and the other...

Continuous improvement

I was unsure whether it would be any good based on some of the negative reviews but I am generally blown away by this product. I had a HTPC running Windows media centre which was getting a bit old and slow, so wanted something that could play video...

OK if you have a dumb TV

I thought that I would give the NSZ-GS7 a good couple of weeks before doing a review as initial impressions were not that favourable. The box itself is small, sleek and piano black, and fits in very nicely with the rest of my mostly Sony AV gear. As...
