Don't try and perform firmware update via the network! I have a very fast, stable network connection and it failed anyhow resulting in ROM error. Go to Yamaha site and download the firmware update, extracting it to a USB key. Bought for great Yamaha...

Nice Receiver

Good Sound Quality. YPAO seems to help sound quality on martin Logan Motion setup. Not sure if its quite as good as my old Yamaha HTR-6180. Air play is awesome

Don't update firmware via network, this can kill the receiver. Only do this via usb drive

Good quality - great sound

We bought this to use with ceiling mounted surround sound speakers, a center speaker and 2 outdoor speakers. We can have the sound go only indoors, only outdoors, or both. It was just a little confusing to remember what buttons to push to make it work...

Don't use with a projector

Tried to use it with a projector using a 50ft HDMI cable with Redmere technology and it doesn't work. Completely worthless to me now.About me... Tech savvy
