Yamaha MCR-640 review

The Yamaha MCR-640 CD player and receiver system comes with glossy speaker cabinets that look the business

Seems a lot of kit for your cash ; piano- black speakers look impressive ; iPod dock

We can’t help feeling it’s bulkier than it needs to be ; sound is rather too shut in and plummy

Seems at first glance to offer a lot for the money, and has a built-in iPod dock, but this is a somewhat humdrum set-up, and sounds too shut in

Yamaha MCR-640 review

The budget price is tempting, but with Yamaha's not-quite-separates you get what you pay for

Pleasantly listenable ; Well appointed ; Affordable

Doesn't go beyond pleasant ; Lacks precision and energy

Attractive value, but we'd spend the extra on the Harman/Kardon system at least

Compact,powerful and excellent sounding.

I wish a manufacturer would find a better DAB radio aerial. This one is no better or worse than any others but I had high hopes!
