Bushnell Elite 8x42

If you're willing to spend a little more, the Bushnell Elite 8x42 binoculars are good way to go. They have almost all the necessary base stats. On top of that they have included their own extra technologies to help enhance your visual experience....

There are 60 layers of coatings on each prism

There is no email support

It is a typical flashy product that is good but not amazing.

Bushnell Excursion EX 8x42

There are a lot of binoculars that are in the area of "8x42" and they are all pretty similar. Out of those that we researched, the Bushnell Excursion EX 8x42 falls in the middle. The reason for that is that nothing was extremely better than the others...

It has a wide field of view

It has only the minimal eye relief

It's a fairly average set of binoculars that works great.

Not good for stargazing

Nice, but not what I was looking for.

Permafocus is handy. 10x50 is a good all around utility binocular. These would be great for sporting events.

Permafocus does not work well for stargazing. It is difficult to see planets and stars with these. I returned them and got some I could focus instead. These would be great for terestrial viewing, but it's not what I was looking for. I also have a pair...

Bird Watcher

Mom sure keeps up with what the neighbors are doing these days. Since the focus is beyond her bird feeders. While looking at the birds she has a good view of neighbors 1/4 mile away.

Good solid binoculars, nice optic quality, durable rubberized coating. I bought these for my mother as Christmas present for bird watching. They are nice for fast viewing of objects as they are always in focus.

Her biggest problem is that anything closer than 80 feet is not in focus. Most of the bird feeders she has set out are closer than that which means I need to get her a different set for the house. Thought about moving the feeders but moving the trees...

Great binoculars for the price. Subjects are clear and bright and the bins are not too heavy for a days outing. They come with covers on the object lenses which are attached to the body of the binoculars so you will not lose them.

Love Wildlife? Invest In Good Optics!

I was going on a trip round the Isle of Mull to go whale watching. While I knew the boat supplied binoculars I thought I'd get my own pair as there were limited numbers so I picked up the Bushnell NatureView 8x42 Binoculars from Wex as they were on...

Small, Light and Bright

Clear and bright image and comfortable to use whilist wearing glasses. They are small enough and light enough to carry around all day. Only small downsides are the case is thin leather and offers no protection, and the lens caps dont stay on at all.
