Canon 15x50 IS All Weather

The Canon 15x50 IS All Weather binoculars will set you back a hefty sum (£676), but they're worth every penny if you're an outdoors enthusiast. With 50mm lens and a whopping 15x magnification, they don't come much better than this. They even boast...

Canon 15x50 IS All Weather Binoculars

The glass is very good and the I.S. system allows you to use them without a tripod, although their weight can get to you before too long (resting one's elbows on a convenient surface may help.) At this price, objective lens caps should be included. The...

Excellent Binoculars!

Shop carefully and when you find a good price from a USA Dealer, go for and don't look back. Also, I added the anti-fog eye pieces when I found them very reasonably priced. They really make a positive difference for night viewing, when your own breath...

These are amazing precision instruments! I've owned eight pair ob various very high quality binoculars over my 70 years (I still have five) and use them for astronomy, bird watching, hunting, and sporting events, but always had particular models I...

The closest thing to a con I can find is the battery life. It is fine for usual use, but for extended viewing sessions you may need to insert fresh AA batteries. I bought a small supply of high quality rechargeable batteries (the kind that come...

I bought these after deciding I would use them far more often for casual astronomical viewing than buying a telescope. I made the right choice at least for my current astronomical needs. They are expensive, but the image stabilisation makes them so...

Canon's image stabilize binoculars make that hard to see detail problem go away! I use my Canon 15x50 image stabilized binoculars when out boating, watching birds and other animals from the patio, and when we go on day trips. I received these...

Product Specifications

The 15x50 IS AW is unique among high-magnification binoculars because they incorporate Canon's remarkable Optical Image Stabilizer technology. This revolutionary system employs a novel Vari-Angle Prism that instantly and continuously makes adjustments to maintain a steady image. Canon's expertise in the area of optical technology has allowed them to incorporate a feature that permits consumers and professionals to truly benefit from powerful binoculars where image shake is most evident, said Yukiaki Hashimoto, vice president and general manager of Canon's Consumer Products Division. Canon now offers the world's highest magnification binoculars (18x) with Image Stabilizer technology and the new models objective lens diameter of 50 provides users with a better, clearer and brighter image. The complete line is representative of Canon's Know How and leadership in the areas of optical and imaging technology. In addition to improving the resolving power of the binoculars with Canon's exclusive and highly effective image stabilizer with vari-angle prism, the new models are designed to be weatherproof, making them ideal for all outdoor and marine activities including, birding, hunting, hiking, boating, astronomy and sports. The new models also feature a UD (Ultra-low Dispersion) glass element that effectively corrects chromatic aberrations while attaining excellent delineation. Canon engineers achieved the high magnification of 15x/18x, as well as the compact optical system length by incorporating four elements in three groups and strategically positioning a concave lens within the objective lens section. The large-diameter 50mm objective lens also provides users with a bright field-of-view. A rubber ring on the end of the objective lens, along with the body's rubber skin are designed to cushion the binoculars from sudden impact, while providing users with a firm grip and less eye strain. Using the image stabilizer feature for extended periods of time has been made simple and convenient. Quickly depressing the IS button located on the top of the binoculars will initiate the IS feature and lock it in place. Depressing the button a second time will release the function for standard viewing. This new feature allows users to freely view subjects without holding down the IS button and eliminates the need for special brackets or accessories to maintain prolonged viewing with image stabilization.
